It's not often I'm impressed by seeing gardens of modern estate houses, but in this case, I think the kerb appeal is much enhanced. Echium pininana in the garden too!House isn't bad, either.PS If you're familiar with the "Look at This!" thread, it's a spot the agent/owner as well..

Grey & cool with slim chance of rain, but supposed to be scorcher this afternoon.Found out who owns the cat lurker, neighbour two doors down, but being cats they assume the street is theirs. Actually, if they deter rats I don't mindGood news on greasy poles & rats 2P, a small, but worthwhile victory.Don't know whee the ford is Dusty, but it does look an idyllic spot to start seeking magic apricotsHoping to pick some fresh peas later, need to check on them anyway.Early start in the garden already, planted out Rozanne geranium into DP border at last, needs watering in some time later today, the border is dry as a boneI'll cut back bog-standard geraniums while I'm at out watering, flowering is just about over & starting to set seedsThis is one of the dwarf Buzz buddleias. I used to have a white & deep purple, but the vine weevils had those.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7

Awww Poppy! That little bird looks like it needs a tidy up 😊
Dusty, Malmsmead? Is the cafe open?
Can't believe that house. I'd have that like a shot. That price would only get you a 2 bed 1 bath and barely a garden here.
Less I love the colour of that poppy. More than my arrived purple. But I agree about the petals.
I've acquired some brown paper bags from Morrisons to tie over the seed heads on them and the LITM which has gone berserk.
Sorry about that Farway 🥴 .... That's one gorgeous colour for a buddleia. I didn't know they came like that. Lots of good jobs done early. I'm still trying to catch up on sleep.
Good one Bluey 😄 your work is quite an adventure. I thought I had my moments but that beats it.
I had to bite my lip when a report of a sudden death. Lady, 80+ had been dancing drinking and with a 18yr old at a nightclub in Majorca when it happened.
I thought I'd found you spot of your dreams with the house for sale in Devon.

It even has a room for the dogs if you scroll down 😊
Right, off to do something, don't know what. It's grey and cool, no sign of a heatwave yetI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I like that stone bridge, Dusty, just my kind of thing. It’s similar to one we saw in Pitlochry, which had corrugated metal underneath - I’ll see if I can find the pic.
YBE, I said the very same thing about Farway’s lily - we obviously like our ice cream 😂 Gone Fishing is one of our favourites too - Paul Whitehouse’s impressions of Ted always crack me up.
Lovely cherries, Less, and clouds too. I took a pic of some clouds this morning - not sure what they were, but you might be able to identify them. That’s a very pink poppy 😁
What a lovely coloured Buddleia, Farway.
I haven’t seen the wee baby Dunnock since, twopenny. It was definitely having a bad hair day, but so cute.
Bright and breezy today 😎
I’m copying off Dusty’s ‘Fade to Grey’ and am calling these cloud pics ‘Stairway to Heaven’…

Gawd I was that long typing this morning I missed a few posts 🧐
Woohoo for Grease v Rat 2p 👏🏻 Don’t think I’d have been able to bite my tongue over your 80yo woman story. I love people like that. Reminds me of the Joan Rivers (?) ‘joke’ - I want to live to a ripe old age and die in my bed, having had a full and interesting life, with no regrets. And I want my husband to be so upset he has to drop out of collegeYeah the ‘accidental landlords’ are already being talked about as a once-in-a-career story. I wonder what they’re doing now… Gawd the house in your link is still the stuff of dreams, I’d have that like a shot! ❤️
Any chance there’s a house the other side of that wee bridge Dusty? 😍 Yous were certainly put through the wringer eh, but very valuable lessons learned I’d say. That house in your link is a cracker, I’d hardly change anything about it.Ooh cherries Less, yummy yum yum. And if you get sick of that bowl you can send it to me 👍🏻 Dropped petals - I leave mine where they fall as a kind of mulch… is that not right? Should I be lifting them? I’m talking about rose petals if that makes a difference….🤞🏻 Visitng Cat is a good ratter Farway. The Holy Roamin’ Terror wasn’t a dam bit of use when I had rats. He used to sit and watch them like they were putting on a show or something 🙄 I like the colour of your buddleia (stupid auto carrot just changed that to bufflehead!)
I forgot to mention that I was agreeing with you re rasp ripple pp 🫢 Great minds think alike eh 😊 Awww look at your diddy wee bird, and your clouds 😍
S’too hot. Am mafted. 26’c and climbing. If you want cheapy housing and a heatwave come on up here 2p 😎I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -
Right, some pics then.A sunset and a bit of a sunrise -And I don’t know my fig’s been arguing with but they’ve torn him a new one ☹️My blackie has been lording it up this last half hour, but then a coaltit arrived to put him in his place, then a longtailedtit chimed in
They’re probably all being very angry with each other but it’s making my heart smile -
That’ll do.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -
Just scuttled back in, that sun is burning hotTook the fleece off the ex cherries and the ex strawberries. That's them finished with this year.Good sky pics, just blue & hot hereBlue, is your fig ripe? Open end can be sign, is it squishy?Mine are going bad to worse, wrinkly browntwopenny said:I've acquired some brown paper bags from Morrisons to tie over the seed heads on them and the LITM which has gone berserk.
Sorry about that Farway 🥴 .... That's one gorgeous colour for a buddleia. I didn't know they came like that.I have a slight LITM hope, with the packet of mixed annuals I bunged in. All sorts coming up, but some are probably weeds. My goosegogs are ripe, but small without any rain to swell them.If I CBA I may pick them & bung my white currants in with them for a fruit crumble tomorrow, otherwise the birds can have themI have a tub of raspberry ripple ice cream I can top the crumble with, although I prefer custardPicked 125g of peas in pods, ex pea shoots but left to grow up, an unplanned crop of fresh peas

Gooseberries are small here too Farway. I'm freezing all the odds and ends of berries as I pick them and once the season is over I'll cook them all together for a mixed-fruit compote to eat with yogurt. My blackcurrant and gooseberry bushes are young and not producing much yet. Raspberries aren't fantastic either, but last year and this have really been about getting the garden established.8

Small goosgogs here too.
Except for one eeeenormous one 😄
I pick and put in fridge or freezer until I've got the lot.
I'd advise against adding rhubarb to fruit stuff. I didn't that, not a lot, and it tastes weird. I'm hoping it will 'mature'
Been so tempted to grow a few peas just to eat raw but not enough space. Perhaps the flowers should go 😲
These are hanging on and colouring up but still very hard. I'm wondering if they are like peaches. I ate a fresh one in Malta and it was like an apple. What we get is soft. Any idea?
It was unbearably hot but overcast this lunch so I settled down in the draught between 2 doors and now it's gone chilly 😬I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Don't wish to boast but I have some giant goosegogs... must be the Welsh rain (actually I think it's the variety - unknown - others are smaller and golden-coloured - giant ones ripen to a pale green blushed with pink). No apricots tho... or figs, though I have thought about giving them a go...The poppy petals always seem to land in a smothering heap, all at once, not good on veg seedlings or in the middle of a lettuce... would prob just leave as a mulch elsewhere...6
