Dusty I inherited 7 like that with my place. Was a dickens of a job to get rid of them.
I'd keep that one by the hedge as ironic retro ornament. A talking point. Tell people you think it's wonderful and watch them squirm 😁
I kept 2. A large frog which I painted gold and it's good and heavy to prop the gate open
And a little boy with a small pool for the hedgehogs.
Ot it's sunny and pleasantly warm.
Useless neighbours son left at 4.45 this morning, I'd closed all the windows, and someone drove up 6.50 to see to their allotment then someone started drilling at 7.10. I'm cream crackers and irritable.
There's now an industrial lawnmower going 😬
Farway you could lay on a sunbed, sit in a chair for your upward photos?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Wm, I hope your charity wotsit can be sorted with minimum anxiety...Farway,that is indeed a weird vicous AI circle. Lovely colour buddleia! Lovely DogPoo border although I'd say you're just as likely to get DogPee so whatever goes in had better be able ot withstand that too. I have some nasturtiums called Salmon Baby and they seem to change colour too from a deep pinky apricot to a pale apricot as they age. I quite like them..2p, good call, re the notice..And the vaseline. Apricots are supposed to be soft aren't they? I'd say they weren't quite ripe yet. Put excess cherries in the freezer or in alcohol as a digestive aid as the Italians doPP, what a cute little bird, anthropomorphising it again though, looks like it's in a rush to get to the hairdressers or stomping about being Annoyed of Scotland.Dusty, I could just hae walked back and fore through that water for hours after the heat of this weekend. even my eyelids were sweating todat when I screwed and cut wood and that was in the shade! Congrats to your guests lleaving, not so much for the lawn although I'd have loved ot have watched a fastmo of it being done...mesmerising, just like watching ppressure washing videos. The fox and cubs in my garden don't really self seed but they do creep, just dig a couple up and transplant, you'll have loads next year
Jesus that'san awful pot water thing, although anyone with babycham glasses might like it!
ybe, your solid legal do no advice is very funny! If not a little disturbing how entitled and vapid some people are. Your sunset is fabulous, those colours are awesome and quite eerie. I had to show OH your erse fig, he was mightily impressed and laughed too, very Aliens....greenbee, how did your open gardens go? I might have missed a post about that...did you get any ideas for what to do differently next time? did they actually notice things you were worried about?lunatic, that is one flabbergasting photo, good job.Less, love the useless turbines too!Too hot, 27 degrees, I've been out to attempt to fix the guttering to the shed in the shade behind it, but I've given up now, not least because I can't find the rest of the gutter clips I carefully placed yesterday. And I also discovered the foxes can open the unopenable food waste bins..I hope they like green rolls. Watering everything is taking it's toll and I'm getting annoyd with it even if everything is already just in big trays...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8 -
Just about recovering what with the heat and lack of sleep with the early door slammer and industrial mowers.
The apple tree has got the white fluff on the branch again, can't remember what it was,, the brassicas have white blister which I've been cutting off and the pigeon has had my raspberries.
No way am I gardening in this!
Other than that a fine day 😬
Went on the moors but no sign of any animals or birds. All huddled in the shade I guess and no breeze but the heather is coming into bloom.
The road was melting and very little traffic in town or country. Even the beach was quiet 😲
Just couldn't resist another ice-cream 😉 so tempting

They do special doggy ice cream too Bluey.
Oh, stopping in the village I saw a poster from a wildlife group, talking about ponds. They seemed to be offering a free one. Thought I could look it up when I got home but couldn't find anything. I'll photo the details next time I go in case anyone is interested.
I was going to reply to posts but still tooo hot and tired so hope you're all coping with the heat.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Ooh I like those nasturtiums (nasturtia?) Farway. They do look a bit exotic, so that's another thing on my want list. I've long given up on GW, for the reasons you say. Well I watched it the other week when someone said it was worth the watch, but I'm a BG gal really. Going off that too mind - instead of being fair and giving all the presenters a go, some of them wanting sacking for being too irritating to watch (I'm looking at you, you long streak of pish that was on on Friday. And the nasal one with the long dark hair that's something in the university... oh and the kiwi). Thankyouplease.
That licky Bambi thing is the stuff of nightmares Dusty! I did like the mini lion that was in the lawn pics. Something just right about the proportions of itInteresting about the runway and cables thing. Makes you wonder what the planning part of Town Planners really means. Planning how to spend the money once they've finished rubbing their hands together and laughing?
I like your frog and your hedgehog pool 2p and your wicker basket-y looking potsHow's the house-hunting going? Getting more serious yet? If the useless son isn't for moving on (and why would he?) I'd be properly thinking about moving tbh
White fluff - is it something that's blown in and the tree's caught it, or is apple tree producing it? I could've eaten every one of the ice-creams in your link yesterday, christ I was melted
I know they say a good sweat out is good for you but you make me tired just reading about what you've done taffIn all that heat too. Foxes opening unopenable food waste bins ha haa! I don't know what a green roll is but they were clearly too tempting
Cooler today. It's still 19'c but only a high of 23 to come. Which is very welcome after the high of 30/31 yesterday! #ThatShipAintRight Have we any Londoners on here? I felt for them yesterday, for they had no clouds and very little breeze down there apparently. Too busy yesterday to ring thingy and ask what happened about those folks that just loaded their van and turned up. That's no1 on today's listI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.9 -

This bungalow has a cool side, so on the rare occasions when it's too hot, we have a continental siesta and work into the evening instead. Watering's better done just before dark.
People imagine the countryside's quiet, but for much of the year, there's early morning activity with tractors and barking dogs etc. Even the recycling people turned-up at 06.30 today, no doubt starting earlier to finish as quickly as possible! We also had this noisy event happen yesterday, but well into the morning:The picture shows about half of them! Since the farming consortium switched from grain to sheep, a big drive from one pasture area to another has happened several times. Not many people held up going east, but the bus was stuck going the other way. No arguing with this lot!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity8 -
I do like your heavy metal frog, 2p.
There's no saving Bambi, but no doubt someone will want the thing if it goes on FB MP. I expect about half of the concrete articles will have to go on there.
I like those fastmo videos of grounds restoration too, taff, but everyone was busy, so no photos of me with the brushcutter or mower seem to have been taken.YoungBlueEyes said:Ooh I like those nasturtiums (nasturtia?) Bluey, Llandegley International Airport is rather like Mornington Crescent or The Chiltern Hundreds. We had a grey watery sunset last night:I hoped maybe for less full-on sunshine today, but the cloud's breaking up now, and we'll be heading towards 23c later. That's fine, as is the forecast till Saturday, so why the hell aren't we cutting the hay?"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity8 -

Planning how to spend the money once they've finished rubbing their hands together and laughing?Shall I tell her, or do you want to Dusty?(Edit to say - oh, see you already have done! Didn't know that about the Chiltern Hundreds though...)Actually, may as well have the full story (at least about the airport, which has nothing to do with the turbines not working (nawty Dusty
) which doesn't mean your surmise about the planners doesn't hold more than a grain of truth)...

Melting already, after a restless hot night.Forecast is sun & more sun until weekendI was in bed thinking about doing more watering, then thought, s+d it, why not get up & do it? So I did.twopenny said:Farway you could lay on a sunbed, sit in a chair for your upward photos?I like the look of those ice creams, not a big eater of them, but I think I could manage a couple of thoseThe white fluff on your apple trees, it's a woolly aphid. I just rub it off, a bit messy because there are critters within.Alternatively, dab with meth soaked cotton bud, flamethrower, or lit fag end. Last two are in jest.YoungBlueEyes said:Ooh I like those nasturtiums (nasturtia?) Farway. They do look a bit exotic, so that's another thing on my want list. I do need to trim back my grapeless grape, it's taking over the apple tree alongside it and smothering the apples.I think I have a pepper, naturally it is because I CBA about them, meanwhile zilch tomatoesDustyevsky said:

Urgh, I’ve got a splitting tinnitus headache and a wee sparrow outside has got the most annoying cheep cheep cheep - it’s a really piercing noise and I think I’m going slightly mad… 😫
Stunning photo from lunatic, as always. The episode of Gone Fishing we watched last night had them fishing for carp on the River Wye - absolutely gorgeous scenery.
I’ve got another application form to fill in today and it’s going to be difficult to concentrate. I’ve had one ‘sorry but’ email so far, but it was for a job I had an interest in but zero experience of, so not too disappointed.
We’ve had heavy rain and it’s felt decidedly chilly while everyone else is sweltering in the heat - I certainly couldn’t cope with 30+ degrees 🥵 It’s nicer here today though - sunny spells and 17 degrees.'A watched potato will never chit'...8 -
