Ooh I like your pineapple plant + pot too pp, but I like your mantle piece more. You can almost feel the smooth of it
That's a charming heart log thing too. I'd sand and wax that and have it somewhere I could always see it. How are you getting on with your dizzies btw? Did you get more/different tablets? Will they work on the new symptom that's decided to join in?
Hopefully your greenhouse is the only casualty Less and it doesn't take anything else on it's travels. Hurray for big pots surviving!
Now you've said what your wosname is taff it's a bit obvious what it is eh ha haa  Funny you should say about a trike, I've always quite liked the look of them. They're only short too so it'd fit on my drive alrightI'm defo-lutely not working an extra 2/2.5 hours a day for free, that's full on urine extraction territory is that. No way Pedro. Not even for a Golf. I saw a Golf yesterday that I really want - I dunno what they officially call that colour but I'd call it Midnight Blue. It was that dark it was verging on black, and when the sun caught it it had tiny wee silvery flecks in the paintwork. Beautiful. I want one of them
Ah a Town Band Dusty. You can't beat a band, especially when they're playing jolly tunes and cheering the place upYou want an A3? If I run mad on my last day and rob the joint I'll get you one. What colour you want...? :P
"Emulsion" trees, that made me laugh 2pI won't ask what Shadow was protecting yous from... he's a handsome beast though, talk about a proper working dog
I'l trawl through my dawg pics and see what I can find...
OT wet and windy. I think we've had our peak though, it was 50mph yesterday evening and it's easing off gradually now. I've had enough of the rain mind. No damage, probably, I've not been out yet to check but I can't see anything untoward. Oh and the drunkards are back up and running... well they do say hope springs eternalI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Right lets have some cheeriness on a miserable day.

Poppy I love your pinapple plantHow easy are they to keep?Never seen anything like that before. I gave someone a Banana plant and it grew to 6ft then they gave it back to meGlad the brain fog has gone, I think I've got some today. The storm, the dark, the gas folk who never get back to you......Thanks for the photo turn Dusty. Yes Shadow was one amazingly trained dog. Would obey owner even when owner wasn't thereI used to talk to mine and ask why some dogs could learn 99 commands and she could only manage 2, and only if she thought there was something in it for her.I've retrieved the trellis and stowed, put up the bird table and more food, keeping my fancy bay inside though for the mo.Bright and sunny but real midwinter cold with wind. Not a day to enjoy the outdoors, just look at it.You're bookmark is so cute. Did it go further? My lovely Ben lay and watched me sorting coins using a book for an hour and a half and when I went out to make a coffee, I came back to the whole lot been scattered and the book slightly chewed.I'm pretty sure that was resentment and saying 'remember me'

Interweb's slow here this morning, but it's to be expected. When your YT finally stopped buffering, Bluey, I thought I might have to report you for posting such a racy video without a health warning....But if you're going to fund an A3 for me, I'll reset my pacemaker and forget about that!
Any colour that goes well with mud is OK, so not the deep blue you mentioned. From experience, silver's best, or at a push, grey.
OT: Quite a striking hibiscus that one, (bottom pic) and the Lantana's nice (2nd pic) but usually ends up with whitefly and red spider if I overwinter it.Missed your super pineapple and mantel, pp. Perhaps the wind blew it around the ether, and it couldn't land here yesterday.I've never had a wheelie bin go over before, so no experience of seeing them zoom, but I imagine an escaped litter of them could be pretty interesting in a town setting.
Hope your greenhouse is still intact, Less. Out for a quick reconnoitre this morning, I spotted the remains of our closest neighbour's tomato house and took a photo. I won't upload, though, because it's not fair to revel in people's misfortunes, even if they are a pain in the unmentionables. That structure was made with non-UV stabilised polythene, and it's been shedding 'bits' for over a month, most of them ending up in our field or front area. Will they clear it up now? Not a chance! However, if they want their grass cut, the 'man who mows' will have to do it....and that grass is still growing! Lord knows when I'll get to ours, with all the sogginess!
Still a very strong, chilly, North wind here.Looking long-range, the cider-consuming chumps reckon it could be settled/unsettled at times, with roughly normal weather for the time of year and location. A bit more of everything, then.
Rummaging in my picture bag, I've found this very bad photo of a mobile sitooterie. There are handles on the end I've somehow cut off, so you can wheel it to wherever the sun is/isn't in your garden, depending on requirements.Update from Mrs Dusty in the depths of Somerset. They have power now, but no internet or TV. Until those are fixed for the old folk, she can't come home."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity8 -
I never thought of waxing the love-heart kindling, YBE, good idea. I had a vague idea of varnish, but I think wax would be better. I'll give it a sand too.
I think the Nystagmus has probably always been there, but I just suddenly had the idea of videoing myself to see if my eyes were moving when my brain was zigzagging. Very weird and unnerving to see. I meant to phone the Drs on Friday, but forgot, so will hopefully phone tomorrow - it's 6 weeks today that all this started
Very cute bookmarkI always think dog's paws smell like biscuits.
twopenny, the pineapple plant likes to be warm and in a bright position, so it probably won't survive in my houseI figured it was the same price as a bunch of flowers that might only last a couple of weeks, so better value, even if it doesn't live forever. I had a banana plant in a pot in my last garden - I loved the huge leaves and the colour of them. It didn't last very long because I think the climate was wrong for it and it wasn't sheltered enough.
An escaped 'litter' of wheelie bins, Dusty, was that intentional??I like the mobile sitooterie, such a simple but clever idea. Hope Mrs Dusty manages to get home soon.
It's a gorgeous sunny morning, but definitely chilly at 4 degrees. I decided not to bother with the washing because there's no breeze out there and no sun in the back garden. I've just had a hot chocolate made with Cadbury's instant hot chocolate, not a patch on the stuff you make with milk, but made better by adding an obscene amount of squirty cream'A watched potato will never chit'...7 -
Perhaps you should treat yourself to some of this then PoppyI can recommend the Peruvian. I think you have to like dark or real chocolate?Aww they no longer have the Peruvian chocolateBluey, I lovely the orangy one, then Irealise you have to live in a hot climate. Thanks for the naming Dusty, it's saved me whirling it around in my brain because I couldn't remember where I'd seen it

Not resentment 2p, that sounds more like ‘here I am helping and being a useful member of the pack’ 😁 I did try teaching Jack to turn the page but he wasn’t having it. I taught him to weed the garden with me though - I’d point at a weed and he’d carefully snickle it up with his teeth. He was a working cocker with a lovely soft mouth, he’d have loved to work but I couldn’t find anyone who needed another retriever.I don’t know where that pic came fromDusty, I only put a link up for my jolly song
I’ll put up another one cos I don’t wanna be frightening the horses
Your wheely bench reminds me of something we saw in Ireland last year… I’ll have to figure out how to get the pic of it out of himself’s phone first 🧐 Fingers crossed MrsD’s area is righted soon 🤞🏻
Dog paws DO smell like biscuits pp, digestives imoWith luck the docs will provide a breakthrough tomorrow and you’ll be sorted again 👍🏻
Oh and thanks for naming my plants Dusty, you’re definitely a useful member of this pack
OT rain’s stopped, wind slowly dying. The drunkards are back up and running with an optimistic heart - they reckon it’s 6’ and feels like 3, whereas the sobers have given 7’ and feels like -4 😱 It’s a good job none of them cost us ‘owt.Edit - I’ve put a diff version of Paolo in the other comment. Did we know D’Duck’s developed its own ootoob player thing? V good I think.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
I've just ordered some of that hot chocolate from Amazon, twopenny, thanks for the recommendation, I'm really looking forward to trying it
They had the Peruvian chocolate blocks on Amazon too.
Yes, digestives is the biscuity paw smell, YBE
It's turned really cold here now and I think it's going to freeze overnight. There's been an aurora alert, so hoping for a wee bit of colour later.'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -

I don't think there's a collective noun for wheelies, so that seemed appropriate. As wheelies contain the only stuff we're allowed to throw away, perhaps it should be a 'discardation' of bins. My spellchecker says 'No!' to that, but AI is cool with it.Mrs Dusty made it home after all.Someone suggested something, and the immediate problems were solved. Just as well, too. We have a club Christmas lunch tomorrow, and she wouldn't get a refund for not eating it!

I think that was a wise decision. It was a very err....'jolly' song, and mucho inclusive etc, but one can't be too careful. I should know!
It was a sunny afternoon here, so as the wind had dried us out, DD and I tackled a few outdoor jobs. I didn't envy her, blasting away the sandy muck the wind had deposited on our windows with a hose.It worked well.
I took the ride-on for a spin, cut a couple of lawns grass areas, and dragged two more dumpy bags of brash up to the bonfire site. Looking briefly at the willows, I saw there are two more that failed in the storm. More firewood, then.

Back again after a brief jolly over DS yesterday. It was GC tea & scone, a bitter North wind, so glad to be inside.Lots of reading to catch up on, sorry about the greenhouse Less, at least it sounds repairable & no plants lostAnd sounds like everyone survived any way, nothing here to report or any damageBlooming cheek on OT YBE, I'm guessing you are not "on the clock"?Where I once worked, a large defence contactors, we were also not clocking in / out, but Management was obsessed that we were taking too long & flexible and occasionally liquid, lunches. Which,TBF, we were at times.Forgetting or ignoring that, we also voluntary stayed after time if the job in hand needed it, kinda swings and roundabout fashion. They put us on the clock, had to swipe ID in / out, which backfired because suddenly all the unpaid, ten minutes here & there, get in early etc, overtime had to be paid for.Hope you manage to get it sorted, could it be the dog walking idea gets a sudden push? The GC I was at had loads of bulbs, deeply reduced down to £2 a bag of 16. I was tempted but really had no need or space so left them. All the daffs were the tall ones though, had they been dwarf type I would have bought some, the recent gales demonstrate why I prefer the dwarf ones.A strange glow in the sky, sunshine trying to creep out?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5
