I'm old and I'm mostly friendly.Definitely not shopping today. Planting stuff. Wife is pulling stuff out. It's called equilibrium.0

Marketing ploy? Who cares, if they do the business. I'm keen to get a few as the ones I have are boring.
Got my planting by the stream done.....well, some of it anyway. Now our new neighbour tells us he's going to chop down about 6 trees, so there's a good chance of more sunshine down there and potentially a more exciting mix of plants. In times past I've lost even 'bombproof plants' like Purple loosestrife and Iris robusta, due to the shade.

Looks nice Dave, prompted me to have a satellite view of the place. From the air it looks smaller than Wisely but I guess the trees are specimens with flowers under or similar?Something like this?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Not sure there's that many cyclamen but there is woodland both sides, not all of it accessible to the public, especially on the river flank ad some is pretty steep. Not as large as Wisley, but great that I can live in the wilds, yet go there and then do shopping afterwards in Torrington without without any great effort.

Another vote for Rosemoor and I have to vote for Wisley too because my son used to work at one of its related gardens, that's the son who wouldn't know a spade from a fork in the garden but can tell me the Latin name and classification of every plant he comes acrossLove living in a village in the country side3

Methinks a little investigation's due. I don't think it's the Tarka trail as that veers off at Torrington. Hmmmm...Last time I was a bit naughty and branched-off off along the Torridge at Halsdon Nature Reserve when I was supposed to be 'protecting the otters,' I ended up in a field of cows....except one, which was a magnificent Charolais bull. He was very well catered-for though, so I pressed-on, only to get a telling-off from two ladies who were in a hide at the other end of the long field. They'd been taking bets on whether I'd seen him and if I'd be chased!
