Not a good start to the quarter with a STS
Rose you can weigh any day which suits you, in bold if you remember please so I can see it
Izadora I enjoyed the ballet however the older friend I went with wasn't so keen but she is a traditionalist when it comes to ballet, opera etc I told her when she invited herself that I would only go with her if she didn't complain during it. I haven't seen Edward Scissorhands, I think my favourite is still his Swan Lake I think using male swans completely changed it. The venue advised masks whilst on site unless eating or drinking but I noticed some took them off, it was sad to only see about 30 people in a 400+ venue especially as I knew originally it was fully booked
B - fruit
L - scramble egg on toast
D - spinach and ricotta cannelloni- it was relatively healthy with added veggies to the tomato sauce but then I added the mozzarella and Parmesan to the top 🙄 but very tasty 😋 just have to freeze a couple of the portions I've leftLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin5 -

@ditty1234 You sound so much more positive, welcome back on the wagon!. As it's the start of the new quarter I've been spending some time this week deciding whether I need to tweak anything with regards to food and life in general. There is so much out of our control at the moment so I'm concentrating on what I can do to improve whatever I can for this weight loss quarter. The weather has been good so getting out for daily walks. I tend to couch potato on rainy days, trouble is. I don't sleep as well if I don't get any fresh air, no excuse really for not going for a walk as I have a waterproof top!. Not too worried about my legs getting wet.
I'll stick with my same weigh in day, I am quite relaxed about weigh in's as I also take into account how I look, whether my clothes are looser or tighter and most importantly how I feel.

Thanks Brambling. I think I'll make Fridays my weigh in day then as if I relax slightly over the weekend I have all week to make up for it.

Morning All,
Rose It doesn't matter if it's slowly, the scales are still going the right way
Brambling I know it's not how you would've wanted to start but well done for the STS. I can see that a traditionalist wouldn't particularly like Matthew Bourne but I love everything of his that I've seen. A couple of years ago they did the initial meeting between the Swan and Prince at Latitude festival, on a stage that's built onto the edge of a lake, and I don't think IzHe was best pleased at being dragged along but I adored it
ditty I'm pleased things are seeming a bit more positive and that's a lot of exercise booked and a lot of steps for a day at work. One downside to working from home, I think I'm lucky if I get 700 steps in during the day
Marion How you look/feel is definitely more important than what the scales say and well done for only couch potatoing on rainy days, even though I know that getting out for a walk makes me feel better I sometimes struggle to bother to get out of the door.
Now that the weather's turned I think I need to start making stews more often. I definitely have a tendency towards pasta/potatoes as warming comfort food whereas I can stuff a stew full of veg and I never was overly keen on dumplings so can quite happily leave them off. Although it's not salad weather it was what I really fancied yesterday so at least dinner was healthy. Probably best we just gloss over what was eaten throughout the rest of the day...
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx6 -
Morning Losers.
I'm in a state of bewilderment at the moment. You won't remember, but about 10 days ago I had a bad afternoon when I was cooking and, in the spirit of quality control, somehow managed to consume a whole choc chip cookie and the overcooked (burnt) edges of a tray bake.
I know my wretched metabolism problems so was not over surprised when the next morning I had put on 8 pounds. Yes, you read that right. Eight pounds.
Never mind, I thought, a couple of days of being very careful should see me back to normal.
Well. It has been 8 or 9 days of being very careful, and so far I have only managed to dislodge 2 of those pounds.
With winter and the C word approaching I was hoping to have a few lost pounds as a safety buffer, but we will see.
Pray for me my friends.
Please don't record this on the chart Bramble. The sight of 8 grinning, purple beasties would be enough to put anyone off their cottage cheese.
Perhaps I'll change the battery in my scales.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening All
Writing down my menu and activities each day makes me realise quite a lot of my days are very 'samey' at the moment.
Breakfast: Mini milky coffee
Lunch: Homemade tomato and pepper soup, tiny slice of a freshly baked baguette with butter, apple
Dinner: Minced beef with mushrooms, cabbage and green beans. Greek yoghurt with homemade lemon curd stirred through.
Snacks: 3 more tiny coffees. 1 square of dark chocolate.
Exercise: Very short walk to post a letter, 90 minutes of tennis.

Monnagran i really would check your scales, how can that possibly have happened?
even allowing for water retention, the calories, which cant have been that many really and the Avtual physicL weight of the food, i find it hard to believe.
not that i dont believe you, you understand!
weigh in for me in the morning, it s been an up and down week.

I hope changing the batteries in the scales give you a better reading Monna. I've found mine don't like being moved and weight 3lb heavier for the first weigh and then rights itself
I had my flu jab in the week, I get it for a high bmi so have to be weighed first. I went to get on the scales, but the nurse looked at me and said you've lost weight haven't you so I'm not going to weigh you as I'll have to send you away as you're no longer eligibleI came out so chuffed she could tell without even weighing me lol.
B - pancake, banana, chocolate spread
L- avocado and tomato on toast, fudge bar
D- bubble and squeak, veg, Yorkshire pud, small bit of veggie pie, ice lollie

Monna your secret is safe with me 🙂 that must have been a biggggg cookie 🍪😳 you do know a new quarter is a fresh start don't you?. Have you moved your scales?
Izadora my friend wouldn't watch his Swan Lake because they had turned it into a comedy??? I recorded it when it was on sky arts a few months ago and will try and persuade her to watch but feel I'm wasting my time 🙄 I would love to go to see a production at Sadler's Wells maybe something for the future
The cold weather always makes me want to eat more I think it's something to do with wanting to hibernate, definitely almost time for porridge and soup
B - overnight oats and yogurt
L bacon, 'poached' eggs, mushroom and tomato's - it's seems you can fail the 'no fail' microwave poached egg method, think squash balls 😁 and what it really needed was a thick slice of toast with butter (but I didn't 😁)
D - LO spinach and ricotta cannelloni
S - dates, appleLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4
