Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 4

Morning all.
Have put my scales back in their cage until January. So am just trying to restrict my eating to 8 hours in the day in the hope (probably vain) that it will stop me going completely mad.
SandyShores, I like your thinking. I'm about to begin my marathon mince pie baking. Next week I have been asked to make 7 dozen plus for a church's Christmas stall......held in the churchyard, under umbrellas probably. This will involve a certain amount of quality control tasting. Can't take any risks where the public are concerned.
The bottle of Bailey's has made its December appearance and the kitchen is beginning to assume its Christmassy odour.
My only hope is to sew my lips together.
Marion, sorry to lose you. I must say that I've never known any hissing and spitting on this forum, unless self-directed. Plenty of encouragement, laughs and delightful rudery, but nothing hostile. I hope you will be happy in your new home.

Sorry I've been away from here for a few weeks. It's nice to see the halos outnumbering those horned creatures on @Brambling tally sheet.
I seem to have taken this long to lose 3 lb.
The extra 2 lb is just about possible in December as I have turned down a friend's very kind offer to stay with her family this Christmas (which I've done for the last few years). It was all uncertain for so long that I do have one box of 6 rather nice mince pies (now stored away in a cake tin) which would have travelled with me and which I'll have over the Christmas period but that will still be a calorie-limiting time so no more than 2 mince pies per day while they last. I don't have any Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, brandy butter or suchlike around.4 -
I'm sorry you didn't feel comfortable here Marion I like to think we are a friendly supportive bunch. Well done on reaching your target
Dumpling lovely to see you as alwayswe've missed you but I know this year you've had a lot going on with your health. If enough people want a thread next quarter I'm happy to run it, just hope I can actually lead by example which hasn't happen much this year🙄
Littlevoice well done on the 3lb and with three weeks to Christmas you may get your 2lb, depends if your will power is better than mine
Monna I'll pm you with my address to courier a half dozen mince pies over the wateryou remind me of my sister who was a MH nurse her manager would arrange a Christmas Fair as a fund raiser and take orders for my sister to make mince pies and Christmas cakes one year there were 30 cakes to make and ice, her boss 'kindly' put her on nights and allowed her to use the kitchen to make the cakes 😳
After a dodgy start to the day, my hairdryer blew up with a bang and smoke 😬 and a quick but unsuccessful trip into town, no Xmas shopping brought yet and my eldest sister is 80 at Christmas. I did grab a sandwich at my sister, unfortunately or fortunately depending on which way you look at it my nephew hadn't baked so the cake and biscuit tins were empty.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone with my mince pies - Little Voice I will also limit myself to 2 per day, that sounds like a good limit. I'm not usually a huge fan but the ones I've had this year were yummy and felt really Christmassy.
I've always felt really welcomed here, even though I usually skulk around when the scales aren't telling me what I want to hear. I love reading this diary, it always cheers me up and I feel cheered on"Think of many things, do one"

Well done Blue and Lapis on your loses
Hopefully your get that last amount by christmas Lapis
Blue allowing for my menobrain you will probably need to prod me next qtr but I'm sure I won't forget you
Back to the joys of work, but I had a discussion with the boss first thing about holiday carry over, they changed what they already agreed so I'm taking all but the allowed 5 days before the end of the year (10 days) so my last day work will be the 15th and I will still be taken 5 days over - we had been asked to carry all out O/S holiday over and then senior management checked with HR last week and they said no other than the allowed 5 days. I won't be doing anything exciting but I'm looking forward to getting away from work as we have been working long hours this year. As much as I would like to go down to see the extended family especially as my eldest sister is 80 at Christmas I can't so there will be no excuse not to do the 'Pre Christmas clean' and maybe get back with the decluttering I started during the first lock down. My sister who lives around the corner will be off as well, she works with children so if the weather is dry I'll drag her out for a few walks
Have a good weekand keep away from too many mince pies
