Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 4

Hi everybody and welcome to new peops.
I am on here in the next couple of weeks to work on my entitlement and with the purpose to re-educate my family - what happened to two vege ... I feel we cook dinner ant it's basically pasta and sauce - not good.
The other thing I am working on is my sense of entitlement to treats. I am usually quite good, but mulled wine and C things get me down. So to highlight the positives - longish run on my day off on Tuesday, no wine or snacks last night, and a 1k swim this morning.
@roblou27 welcome to the 50's runners club, I have always done a bit of running but 2 years ago I started club running and I love it. There might be a FB group for running in your area. Even in the clubs there are lots of bubble hat wearing runners. Well done for starting c25k it's a great programme.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

I have totally gone into damage control now - after eights and mince pies seem to just be tempting me all the time. Oh and we got a free bottle of bubbly through the mobile phone app so of course that had to be opened. I will be here in body if not in the full weight loss spirit
Ditty and roblou another 50s runner here. I started at a club about 2 or 3 years ago and its the only thing that helps me keep the weight in check. I tried one club to start with and didn't like it, but luckily tried another club and they really suit me - and I'm not the youngest in the group by almost 20 years. So don't give up if you find one club doesn't suit you. We don't always go far and fast and there's a lot of nattering but a lot of support.

Back in February I'd thought about joining a local running group (it seemed very welcoming to beginners) and had agreed with the leader that I'd join in the new term, as it were. Then 23 March arrived and I've done no more than jog occasionally when I'd otherwise be late. Sounds as though Ditty1234, roblou27 and SandyShores would encourage me to look at this again when possible.4

Dear Brambling, I am with you every inch of the way and every ounce on the scales. Apart from stopping eating at 4.00pm I've given up every effort to control anything. I know when I'm beaten.
Come 2021 a new, revitalised, determined and enthusiastic Monna will emerge. I think.
Dear Santa, please give me a large bank account and a small waist. Please don't mix them up like you did last year.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna I've found that Santa has got it the wrong way most of my adult life 🥺
ladies i I admire your running, my head tells me I should but my knees tell me to stick to the walking
Ditty it's easy to drop the veg if not careful especially if we cook pasta dishes, chilli, curry etc I do try to add veg to these things a grated carrot is great to add extra veg 🤫

I managed 1/2lb loss this week
I won't be surprised if it disappears over Christmas though
Ditty and Brambling, I chop up and freeze veg, and buy bags of frozen mixed veg - then it's easy to just grab a handful and chuck it in with the pasta/curry sauce. Great for days when I don't have the time/energy to chop up and prepare fresh veg5 -

I will not weigh in till January now - as I'm happy to complete with a small minus! Just to add to a success story I just bought a pair of new size 14 trousers that fits beautifully, so while there are still a bit of weight to unload I am feeling good and aiming to get 1-2 hours of walking or running in a day - now that the pools are closed again, tear 4 here we come.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
