so, I have used my commute money - hopefully, to secure a holiday let in Ludlow with my daughter in October. I slimmed down the costs by staying a bit more local rather than going to Stornaway, which was our original plan. But flights and train fares from Brighton (for me) my goodness. Spendy.
I am properly dithering as to whether to go away in August too, I have been thinking about going to Cornwall to see friends and family. But it is August, and it will be super busy, and expensive, thinking of pushing it til next March.
I am about to talk myself into a staycation again I think. The debt is too high still to be going away in August right?3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

October isn’t long to wait and you should have more spending money for Ludlow if you don’t go away in august? More meals out and more to look forward to if you can wait a few months 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Feeling lighter and brighter this morning, I think I am settled on a staycation in August. Really want that Virgin CC gone, so these are the ongoing lessons, until I have money put aside for holidays, father than debt.
I will be writing my assignment all weekend, so not much fun to be had, but have a walk with a friend booked in for the weekend after next, for after it is handed in.
Realised i need to add a pot for putting money aside to see my daughter - and it needs to 8 times a year for sure. Lockdown was so hard for me not being able to see her. Will look at the spreadsheet and tweak accordingly as a break from study and looking to the future.
Tax bill to pay. Might do that too this weekend.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

I am taking a break from the assignment...I hope I have got good bones for the introduction, like pulling teeth though! It is a bit stressy, but am enjoying the learning. I have a sachet of aromatherapy bath salts next to me - a 'calm' blend that my friend sent me. It smells gorgeous, and I am going to tip it into a bath when I complete the assignment.
I woke up thinking about going on holiday somewhere very sunny - on my own, and it felt nice.
I also registered for Glastonbury this week... which would be fun, even on my own, I have wanted to go for so long but gave up trying to get tickets a few years back, I have resurrected that ambition.
The sun is shining, and I have sunflowers on the windowsill.

Meal planning very awry this week, not good shopping at all. But will muddle through for sure.
Paid my tax bill, but am still in catch up for the January bill - £350 a month needs to be put aside for it, and then that can go on the debt.
Not much fun over the weekend, just a coffee with my boss to get my work mobile (but no SIM card!). Got a fair bit done on the assignment, kind of enjoying the learning, but also will be very glad when it is done. The submission is next Tuesday.
I think I will have quite a sense of relief when it is completed and submitted.
