So today's challenge for Joyful June is to make a playlist of uplifting music...I am going to try and give it a go, finding music hard at the moment. Going to try for 6 tracks, it's a start right.
NSD yesterday.
@WinterWarrior I have some bits...I think I will be alright. Its a good challenge to not go over the budget even when things are tight. I am obsessed with Shitts Creek at the moment. But might see where I can stream Father Ted, sort of forgot about it.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

Schitts creek takes a bit of time to warm up @WinterWarrior but i love it.
So...payday, and there is a tax bill looming next month, I have rejigged things so not to dip into my Emergency Fund. I had a pot for saving for a sewing machine, that too can wait, so that was £300 I could Peter & Paul. Gosh all this delaying of gratification to get myself sorted. Really am hoping, and have all intention that the third time will be the charm!
Debt payment percentage very disappointing this month, and not met my mini goal 2. All efforts on the Virgin Credit card. - this needs to be gone by March next year - so that I can balance transfer and be on no interest, for the rest and remainder of the debt.
Still have £5.00 in my grocery pot, and another NSD yesterday.
Not done the uplifting playlist.maybe at the weekend, today's Joyus Juns - show appreciation to people that are helping others...really isn't hard this one, it's part of my job.
Nature, nurture and nourish is going ok.

I am having a lovely break from work. Had a great walk on Saturday, up a very steep hill and to see the seven sisters. Relaxing and resting. Went to London on Tuesday to see an art exhibition and walked and walked. Yesterday I had a day trip with my Dad and step-mum to Virginia Woolf's house and a pub lunch (on them). I have only bought train tickets and a meal deal that I ate in the park, oh and one pint of beer.
July. Halfway through the year, on the Turtles thread, there was set your goals for the next 6 months so here they are!OVERVIEW of the next six months. Welcome to the second half of 2021.
Goals:
- Debt 50% off original debt (currently at 31%) - need to clear 4,026 = that is 671 a month, after interest.
- Finish assignment and therefore my course at Uni
- I need to work out a longer term sustainable budget – for after 50% of debt gone and no debt (=Saving, and a bit generous in some areas of life), but until 2022, it's quite hardcore MSEing.
- 1 bottle of wine a week limit
Really hoping my mini goal in my signature of Virgin CC minimum payment less than £150 for next month. But it might not be until the month after.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

So emotional and sad, lots of crying over the last week. I miss D-exGF lots and lots. But it is right we are not together, still very hard though. This would be a usual time where I would spend, and spend. But I haven't. Its hard, but I haven't. I just can't. I need to secure my future. I am nearly 50, and have a horrible, horrible thing hanging over me. It's such a struggle, but I am doing it.
Had a very lively week off work, even with the crying and sadness. Seen people and been to beautiful places, very much on the cheap. I am very proud.
The infection rates are hideous, I don't know what to make of it and how to move forward in life, should I travel? should I go to a night club and dance the night away, should I go on holiday to Cornwall. It's all a lot, and it's hard to find meaningful distraction, whilst I live at work.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

I’m sorry you are sad 😞 it’s nearly my birthday and I always cry on my birthday so I understand. You know you shouldn’t be sad, but it still happens. I’m a bit older than you, I’ve been crying on my birthday for as long as I can remember! I must be broken, but isn’t everybody? There are so many positives and good things in your life and you have done brilliantly not spending your way through it.
I like a good list, things that make me mad/sad, things I have that I’m grateful for, things I can look forward to (usually small things, nice food, books, etc.), would that help?

Yes you have every right to grieve over things that could have been, while still appreciating you have made the right move ⭐️ It will get easier, honestly, it always does. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Had a good cry yesterday at Yoga.
Asked for withdrawal of funds from Premium B0nds to pay the tax bill. I am decluttering my emails, as they come in. It os a relief to have no emails unread at the end of the day - so many of the emails are from companies I have bought things from over the years and am unsubscribing, as they come in instead of ignoring.
I am going for 6 NSD run this week. Wine may be what breaks it! May only make 5.
I will be nose to the grindstone on an assignment - my last. had an extension to the 20th of July. Fingers crossed.

Not much to report, just acknowledging to myself that my behaviour has, or at least is changing in the face of adversity. NO spending, NO takeaways, NO clothes, NO skincare. It is quite a big shift. My perspective is changing, and hopefully, my relationship with money is changing.
