Great referral news Pigpen.
Interesting to read about other people's comments about the Covid app. I downloaded mine on Wed eve in preparation to go to the gym today; got to the door and it was only displaying use it if you are in the Isle of Wight. Had a chat with one staff member, uninstalled it then reinstalled it. Same message. Spoke to receptionist who said with surprise "oh have you just come back from the IOW then?" duh. Uninstalled it, reinstalled it and finally it worked. I spoke to dopey receptionist again as I was concerned that when I left my phone in the locker (as I didn't plan to take it into the swimming pool!), would it track everyone who walked past the locker? She looked bemused and said it would do whatever it said on the web site..... I then notice that when I go to uni next week, I should in theory leave the app running (which, despite what the instructions promise, does indeed use up battery fast) plus I have to scan the uni app every time I go into a different classroom for more than 15 mins. However, when I'm with a student but they are behind a screen with both of us wearing a visor, I'm advised to turn it off. How I'm going to remember all that goodness knows. The way universities are going I'm doubting how long I'll be needing to go anyway as they will all be in quarantine.
Anyway, today I:
- went swimming
- posted letters
- dropped loads off to cs and tip. Interesting to go through the pockets of an old motorbike jacket and find a set of 3 keys with no recognition or remembrance of what they were or how they got there. Sent a photo on WA to my brother and they were his - seems he must have given me his spare set when we went on holiday either last year or the year before!!
- started logging some of the courses I've done this year onto my professional area; that has been on my to-do list for ages
- started, or rather continued, the blitz on my study
- did a load of washing upRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning all
made it to the weekend, I shan’t bore you with my week, it’s been one thing after another but I got through it and that’s all that counts. DH has had a horrible week too. There are house and garden jobs to do but nothing is desperate so we have decided to get out and about today and just leave everything for a few hours.
We are off to a new to us Natty trust place, about an hour drive so will be leaving about 10, I think the fresh air and exercise will do us both good and hopefully it will stay dry!Hope you all have a good day, I will get my dailies done and then will be back to fly properly tomorrow x8 -
Happy 60th birthday to Valli !!!! and Many Happy Returns - hoping you can celebrate properly soon [insert bunting, streamers, cake, champagne, cards and presents]. Meanwhile, your virtual Flylady party starts with a virtual cuppa in bed, comfy pillows and a warm duvet, and your favourite music on the radio
Hope everyone has a great weekend. To those who are flying, fly well. To those who are definitely not flying today, rest well and enjoy the break. I'll leave you all to guess which I'm doingxx

Loving my virtual party thanks. My preferred party breakfast (post lie-in with the radio and a coffee, of course) would be Eggs Benedict. What would you all like? Many happy returns, Valli! 🎂. As soon as I get this last piece of bunting fixed up, I’d love to join you with eggs benedict. Make mine a tea to go with it, although ASB has now turned my mind to a decadent champagne. Have a lovely day xx7

Happy 60th birthday Valli xx Welcome to the Swinging Sixties Club
I hope you have a wonderful day xx A big thick hunk (we call them doorsteps here) of home made bread toasted with butter, marmalade and a mug of tea for me please.
I've been tired all week but still got up early today and went into town just after 7 am to pick up my prescription and fill up with petrol. I've then sat with my brew and caught up with the thread. ionafan - I get tired just reading your to do lists. Sending you all a big squishy hug - feeling the love for my flylady friends this morning
I need another brew before I even think about what to do next. DS has gone off for his last shift at the Ama$on warehouse and will start his new job (office hours and shorter commute) on Monday. GF is still waiting for a start date; week one of her living here is now behind us and went well.
I'm going to bring down the (overflowing) laundry hamper, sort the washing in to loads, set the first load swishing and then have my second brew.
Sounds like a plan. Enjoy your day however you plan on spending it.
Rxx
