v. pleased with council tax letter £50 off pcm for the rest of this year. But they have taken the normal payment this month despite the letter pre-dating the DD. I'll keep an eye on them. I'm also expecting leccy to drop.
Flying has consited of recycling out and collected. Need to get straight though - I'm doing NOTHING this weekend - at least, not on Saturday.

Hi all
Good work there Ionafan. And Mademoiselle, I somehow found myself agreeing to go up to 35 hours a week at my appraisal even though I said to DH beforehand that I wouldnt. Well we do need the cash.
Pigpen my DH leaves all the finances to me, which most of the time is great, but sometimes I wish he would take some of the responsibility.
Another long day, up at 6am, kitchen cleaned, DW on, laundry sorted, then off to the paid stuff. Home at 5.30pm, shepherds pies made, DW emptied, more washing over the airer. Feeling a bit headachy now, going to make sure I get a shorter day tomorrow.8 -
Same here Yorkshirelass, I am in charge of finances
ds2 had an lady come to teach him life skills. He washed his own clothes and hung them outside on the whirly. They also dusted hours 😀 To celebrate I took him for a ECG, blood test and flu jab. He is so phobic of medical stuff it has worn me out. It took an hour to remove one sticker from his leg. The others came off quickly in the bath as I had suggested in the first place.Ground floor dysoned and bathroom cleanedNatty how is your leg? Hope it is healing x8 -
2 round trips to small town and school, with DD driving once each way. Head down at job2 to make up for the hour out to do one of said trips. Upstairs dusted and swept, primarily to pick up mounds of fallen out hair after having washed it. Vacuumed the landing, stairs and hall whilst I was at it. Kitchen tidied after dinner, and dried bedding ironed.
DH is now researching Operation Will. If we finally crack this one, it will be a huge frog munched, and not before time.

DBS stuff filled in online. The letter I have just received from the council will suffice as proof of address so a bonus there, most of my bills are online now so this is always an issue. Will get passport and driving licence out in the morning. House straight and vacuumed through. Lazy weekend beckons. Just got to survive another day at the chalkface.
i wonder if Honey Bear and Lamewolf ever lurk. They are missed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Dizzy very belated birthday greetings honey, I hope you had a nice day 😘
Haven't done any flying at all since accident. Been driving DH nuts though.. We went to his mum's house, he visited her in the care home and I checked the house for valuables or money so that we can look after them, or bank the money in her account. Last time we found nearly 4,000 squirrelled away in the house, this time only 50.00 was found thankfully. DH was sad when he came back from visiting his mum in the home, she's got very old and thin.
Yesterday we went to Costco, yes we bought loo rolls..lol But in fairness they do last a year and we were due to get a new load.
Leg is still throbbing but at least I can stand on it now. I am keeping it covered and bandaged up and when sitting down I keep it raised up. So all in all I think it is starting to recover. More bruises are appearing all over me...very scary how I got battered. Next week will be resting and definitely not lifting anything or moving anything.. lol
Plasterers never turned up today so am hoping they come tomorrow, otherwise the painters will arrive on Monday and there will be no ceiling for them to paint. So it'll be another day of putting the cats in our bedroom and listening to the meows because they want to come out but can't.
Very boring update from me...lol

Golly, nearly Friday already as others have said.
Most of this morning was taken up with workplace student session on Zoom. She's a nice lady and I'm enjoying teaching her although finding the lack of practical hands-on activities frustrating; however, we agreed that once a month we will meet in Cost& mainly as I need to hand over physical paper pay claim forms so hopefully I can incorporate some more practical teaching that isn't embarrassing in a public place.
Fingers crossed but the local heating/plumbing company seem to think "old Fred" on their staff may have the knowledge to deal with our range problem so they are coming to have a look on Monday. If all else fails and we have to cut our losses, they sell boilers so could advise us. I haven't had a boiler for 30+ years so the cost and hassle is very worrying, and I'll then be asking for recommendations on cookers as I haven't used one of those for years either.
In preparation for their visit, Mr N spent a lot of time with a little help from me in sorting out the garage (where the "new" range is stored). Tomorrow a trip to the charity shop and maybe tip, which should make a difference. I've also got various things scattered around to make up Christmas charity boxes which I need to consolidate and finish off.
2 uni assessments booked and paperwork sent to me; one dyslexia and one dyslexia/dyspraxia so that's me back into work mode and wishing I'd finished tidying/organising my study as it now looks like an explosion in a paper factory.
Checked greenhouse, harvested a few more tomatoes and beans.
Tomorrow is swimming, cs/tip, attack the pile of paperwork in my study, clean bathroom/spare room as my brother has gone home.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning all
Firmly in the WAC here. Work was odd yesterday, two entire year groups sent home due to a number of positive tests. So 550 kids out of education, not sure when they'll return.I've supped a honey and lemon, done aH&B order as run out of their super strength manuka honey and they have a penny sale on, checked bank accounts and booked parents evening. Today's plans are work - butchers - collect kids - football training - light fire - eat pizza - hopefully sleep for 12 hours. I'm with Valli on having a chilled weekend.
Hugs to all xx9 -
Well this is it. Last day of being 50-something. Should be looking forward to my party.
Ah well, others have list far more to Covid.
WM x 1, not enough stiff in DW so that can run later. My bills are going to plummet!
Happy Friday all.
Must remember to wish DS happy birthday. 27 today!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
