Morning all. About to start first paid shift. Our staff are now all at home again. Will try to report back on flying later.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning all,
I am late up so just to send hugs to all. Feel like s*it warmed up but the show must go on. Have good days all x10 -
Morning, or at least I think it is, bad night's sleep here and it's going to be a very very long day, for the next 5 weeks I work from 8.30 to 7pm. Whose stupid idea was that, but the money will be appreciated. Autumn has arrived here and I'm in a meeting room in the production part of the site so have had to find closed shoes and socks (they don't match but are near enough).
DW emptied and breakfast stuff put in
Lunches made
OH instructed to go to supermarket and get some fish for fish and chips dinner tonight
At least I'm happy with my lesson plans for today and have ideas for next week too.
Taking the recycling out then off to work
Hugs all round, tomorrow is another day.11 -
Morning all
Bedding stripped and in wm, veggie chilli prepped in sc for DH to switch on later. Going into work a bit early as I need to beg an hour off mid morning to get DD into school for a later start.
Take care all x10 -
Morning all.
Yesterday evening I removed all the shelves that DS1 had put up except the top one (they were only lying on top of the brackets, not screwed to them!), numbered them as I went along so that they go back in the right place (the walls are uneven, so the shelves aren't interchangeable) and then stopped to watch Mary B and Nadya.
This morning I have
- removed the top shelf which was playing silly wotsits last night - or perhaps my arms were just too tired to lift it
- made a cuppa
- played tetris in the back porch and utility, in order to make space for the directors chairs which have been cluttering up the LR all summer: even in good weather, DH is not really a sitting-out-in-the-garden type, and I don't think we shall be using them again this year!
- got rid of 2 large empty cardboard boxes from the Dy$0n and steam mop, a wobbly-headed broom that belonged to my m-i-l,
- cleaned the floor in the porch and utility (didn't move the carpet runner, though), wiping up coffee spills which were not my fault, chasing spiders, and cleaning the walls and door where Rosie shakes herself if she comes in wet
- noticed that one wall really needs repainting - might manage to do it myself some day, as the ceiling is quite low
- ironed two pieces of fabric in preparation for pinning out my still-not-finalised HM pattern for the work table drawer
- finally drank my cuppa
- had breakfast
- moved a little chair back into the LR - it has been in the DR all summer because of the directors chairs taking up its space
- opened curtains and tidied LR and bedrooms
- sorted WMx2 but not started - still looking at black clouds coming towards us, though the forecast is for sunshine later
- checked finances
Once I've started the WM, I'm going to spend the rest of this morning painting the shelves. I think may have to order another tin of varnish, but I'll see how far this one goes. Perhaps one coat will suffice...
Radio - on
Painting clothes - on
Plastic gloves - on
I may be gone some little time!
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx10 -
Both pc desks cleaned. Attempted a dog walk but they didn't want to go. Sorting out shelving in bedroom next.Spend less now, work less later.11

Seriously on a roll.. convinced OH he will save money having a loan (8.5% int) to pay off the overdraft (39.9% int) over 3 years.. I made him do the maths.. the enlightenment was palpable. His phone switched today so a goo chunk saved there.. and he is sorting the credit card when he gets back from skiving at the gym.

I have painted one side and one edge of each of 8 long shelves. Just having a coffee break and must phone a friend, then prepare for tonight's Zoom meeting, before doing lunch, then tackling the second side. Might manage to squeeze 2 coats on everything from the one tin of varnish
We have had a heavy shower, but it looks as if it's brightening up now, so I will get DH's jeans and joggers blowing on the line as soon as the WM has finished twirling.9 -
Good afternoon!
Up early this morning. Took the dog for a walk in the rain, then back home in time for Bob the builder to come and fit the last lot of taps before I started work.
Kitchen looks OK because its only me here and I am cleaning up as I go along. DW was put on last night & kitchen surfaces cleared.
Yesterday I managed to clean all 5 windows & all 5 blinds - it took ages, but it is done! I took 2 bags to the charity shop & binned a few bits. I need to still sort 3 wooden boxes & about 3 large bags of toot. I also need to finish vacuuming, but it needed a recharge yesterday. I have been working today, but finished now. I have cleaned the vac head & vac'd the LR. I need to empty the DW.
You will be pleased to know (especially anyone in North Wales!) that DH managed to get himself some more clothes to wear (money we didn't need to spend!!) and he & DS have today climbed Snowden. They are now on their way down.
ASB I hope you have had a better day at work today.
