It's been reasonably painless to set up the account and the app. The niggles I have are
    1. I received 2 app activation letters in this morning's post. Both letters identical apart from the registration code. The first one I tried worked ok

    2. I have an iPhone 10XS, so use FaceID instead of TouchID. The app is set to TouchID, I can't change this, and the app tells me I'd have to re-activate TouchID in my device settings.....errrrm.
    Nobody is perfect.

I am now waiting for my first test withdrawal, which I can make on sept 29th. I am quite happy to continue to make deposits deposits in the meantime, and am glad to have this handy account for a couple of imminently maturing regular savers.

Heads up that they've just released online bonus saver issue 7 paying 1.2% (includes 0.5% bonus) variable however I'm having issues with the online application process as just takes you to the member login page!! Anybody else applied and having same issues or is it just me (tried on a couple of different browsers)??

Has anybody already got an easy access account with them as just wondered are withdrawals to nominated account usually processed same day if a weekday?

EDIT - Application process now seems to be working, must have been waiting to start work at 9am!!!!

Could someone provide direct links to this nrw Skipton offer, also T&Cs. For the life of me I Can't find them.
  • Would appear that Jack Fletcher is genuinely the Community Specialist for Skipton Building Society. Could be why he has not visited since Friday, if a Mon-Fri Skipton colleague.

I assume @Jack_SkiptonBS will follow the advice given and get himself verified by the forum admin, if he has not done so already.

Welcome Jack. Your employers may have gained a few more members this week 🤔😂

The 1.2% account has been pulled for new applications. It was only available for a very short time.
  • managed to open 2, one for wife, one for me. Straight forward so far. Will also use debit card deposit £500 pm to get £5 reward @ Halifax reward a/c.
  • @oldwiring - Check out Coventry Building Society tomorrow for a 1.20% variable, easy access account launch.

Major difference to the Skipton offering though is only two penalty free withdrawals per 12 months.
  • Anything variable is going to rapidly head to zero. You need to look at short or medium term fixed rates at the moment IMHO.

  • Yep. Fixed rates seem the way forward. Oops. Too late with this 1.30% from Para-GONE! 🤷‍♂️
  • Just found out that the Skipton Online Bonus Saver offers Standing Orders - nice :)
Unfortunately you can only have 2 nominated accounts to withdraw to, but it may be of use to others who like myself use a hub account - in my case a Santander123 which then transfers into umpteen regular savers.
