Well that was short lived. So glad I just grabbed one and funded with low amount in readiness for holding maturing regular savers. Best thing you can date withdrawals in the future.0

I think I must have been the last person to make an account before this was pulled. I plugged in my details, organised by first deposit and then it disappeared from all sites about ten seconds later! I was really confused for a second!!0

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."1 -

Hopefully there’ll be another Bank or B.S. coming along soon that’s willing to chance their arm and pay a mind-blowing 1.21% !

I’ve often wondered what parameters the Banks and B.Soc’s use when they decide the time is right to close accounts to new customers.
Skipton have pulled this account after just two days or so and I assume (perhaps wrongly) that although they may have taken on lots of new customers the actual cash invested is still comparatively low at the moment.
Some accounts I’ve opened in the past have asked the general question ‘how much do you intend to invest?’....I’ve always assumed that question is used as a ‘ballpark’ guide to help them decide when to pull the account;....Skipton didn’t ask that question.

Managed to open an account a few days ago but not happy with the App. Took me at least 5-6 tries to successfully register the app on my Android phone, as it was giving me incorrect error messages despite me inputting the correct security information. Could not even install the app from the App Store and not too many happy users overall of this app if you check online. So sticking with NS&I for now.0

Perhaps?? they had a bottleneck.
I’ve just (1pm) received my App registration code via the postie;...downloaded the Skipton App (iphone) and chose my 6 digit pin. Entered my App registration code, ID and password and it logged me in straight away.
The whole process took just moments. I’ve logged in/out several times just to test and no problems whatsoever.

I tried to setup a linked current account, but when I put in my details it did not recognise them.
I guess that this is because withdrawals cannot be made in the first 14 days. But it is still wrong to say it does not recognise my bank details.
PS. App installed and registered on my ipad and also installed and logged in on my android phone without any problems0 -
@RG2015
I could not Add Account within app, however, I could on the website.
What I did not like is the fact that to link your nominated account, you have to send them a statement, from the last 30 days, for the account you intend to link.
Why should they get access to all my transactional data on my nominated account?
To be submitted via email, post, or branch.
Catch 22 now though, because if you do not link an account, how do you withdraw your money later??
Update:
Looks like the statement is a requirement when it cannot confirm electronically as my second account nomination went straight through and is active.2 -

PS. App installed and registered on my ipad and also installed and logged in on my android phone without any problemsI’ve just setup my NatWest current account as my ‘linked account’ using my laptop and it accepts the details no problem;...if you wish to make any account changes Skiptons system asks for your online password and 6-digit passcode. I initially made the mistake of entering my Mobile App 6-digit pin passcode,... which promptly gets rejected.
There is a function within the mobile App called ‘Secure Passcode’....it generates a random unique 6-digit passcode which is to be used when making any critical changes to your account; i.e. when trying to setup a linked account et al,...you need to be quick though, because the 6-digit passcode is only valid for 30 seconds,...if more than 30 seconds elapses you’ll need to generate another passcode.
