and ps. you pay PAYE tax on your income and...

you can earn 62K a year seperate from your PAYE income tax free in a business!!!

In fact, he could claim tax back off anything relating to the business that he has bought that he still has, ie. computer mobile phone. So mate if you're reading this i'd get in touch with HMRC and claim back some money. You can voluntarily register for tax with a business plan, business account, proof of purchases and you only have to pay tax after your initial 62K

I was a mess, I had a job working at HMRC, earning 12k per year and all I could afford was a bedsit. I lost my job as I was homeless. I applied for a council place and I had nothing. Absolutely nothing. My children lost out on quality time with their father.

where is the logic in that. Where does the word FAIR come into that!??

Exactly! And perhaps the reason you didn't get a council house was because the queue was so long, and perhaps the queue was long because some council houses/flats are filled by people who don't NEED them, and are denying an affordable rented home to others???

thanks, this was the answer I was wanting, whether you have to pay tax on ebay profit if it's on top of a salary. From what he said, he thinks he does have to pay, so splits it into many accounts.

My post is about tax fraud, and if people think in general it's morally OK to keep £12k from the "tax man".

I know a guy who lives in a 1 bed council flat, and drives a rather expensive new-ish car, always buying expensive bottles of wine, eating out, spends £200 on a night out, and pays £350/month in child support to his 2 children (from 2 different partners). He's only a technician, so I presume he earns around £15k PA...

Something just doesn't add up. I'm sure there's a queue for council flats, so not sure how a single bloke who seems to have so much money got one! And he was talking about getting a new car, paying in cash, which costs £16k!!

This morning I heard him talking about how he makes £1000 a month buying and selling stuff on ebay, and he has 7 bank accounts! At least that would explain all the free cash and extravagant life style.

Is that legal? I have no idea about child support costs either, but I do know he pays around £350 a month for the 2 kids, so I suppose that would be right for just a technician salary??

I read all these stories about people who desparately want a council flat, and yet here's some guy living in one, with all this cash to splash... hardly seems fair. His family all live in council flats, so does that mean he has a better chance of getting one?

So all the parts i have highlighted in bold were for what purpose?

    to tell the story... :p

May I also take this opportunity to thank those who PM'd me with messages of agreement, who didn't post on the thread as they didn't want their heads bitten off

At the end of the day, it's too impossible to type the whole story as none of you know this guy, and if you think tax fraud is ok, and unnecessarily occupying a council house when it's needed by others is fine, then that's fine. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. i was just voicing mine.

Sorry, can you tell me one person that deserves his home more than he does?

Hi- I certainly don't agree with fraud of any kind and if he's clearly doing something against the law then do something about it.... theres people you can contact and you dont even need to leave your name/details.

However if he's doing everything above board, then id leave him alone.

I know what you mean about some people not being able to afford private rent or a mortgage, it isnt fair but theres not much we can do about it sadly.

And no we dont know the whole story, to be honest i find it funny how some people can judge others online without knowing the full picture etc... things can get twisted and taken the wrong way... So im not going to rant and rave as theres no point. I cant say if whats hes doing is right or wrong-as i dont know if he is paying enough tax, or if he gives enough to his ex and kids etc.... some people brag about things and make out theyve got loads of money for example, but are lying/exaggerating.... he could be putting up a front? I dont know.....

Probably hasnt helped but theres my opinion!

So you try to paint a picture but your only question was is this tax fraud :p

Nobody is biting your head off, the way you have come across in this thread is tbh quiet shocking...i still disagree with you and of course all the pm's ;)

Let's look at it this way regarding the council flat if a single female was in the flat would that be different, if a single oap was in the flat would this be any different  He is entitled to that flat as much as me, you, or anyone else. simple as that!

Just because this chap appears to have it all doesn't actually mean he does.

Even by your own admission he pays csa so you can't jump on that bandwagon.

If you seriously believe he's doing something wrong pick up the phone and do something about.

Still think your a jealous ex :p

    Pinkshoes,

You are really not helping yourself here. You can't have it both ways. You can't give the ins and outs of this bloke's child support payments, his spending habits, his car and his accommodation arrangements and then say:

    a) This thread is not about any of these things - it is about tax fraud.
    b) That, despite you deciding to reveal all these details about this bloke, we don't know the full story.

If you wish to alert the Inland Revenue, then go ahead. Nobody on here has condoned tax fraud.

And what on earth is "unnecessarily occupying a council house" as you put it, to do with tax fraud?
  • Perhaps if people worry more about their own problems and families and less about other peoples business then people would be a lot happier, have happier kids happier life in general. or perhaps some people lead such sad lives they feed off of others personal stuff, or are just down right Jeleous!! If your not happy with your life compared to your neighbour.. change it yourself!

I would go nuts if people were disucssing my personal life especially on a web site... how rude and ignorant.. and im sure if he knew what you were saying he would sue you for deformation of character and then you would get laughed out of court!
:T This site is great! Thanks to Martin Lewis & everyone who participates and helps so many people! Without you all, where would we be ??:T

    "unnecessarily occupying a council house"

I think you may find that if he has custody of his children at weekends, that he is just as entitled to a council flat as any other person who falls into the Government's definition of being in need of housing.
