No, they certainly should be evicted, that's unfair. I guess it just comes down to personal moral judgement.

If I was living in a council house and knew that other people would greatly benefit from having that house, and were in far more need of a council house than I was, and that I could easily afford to rent privately or buy, then I would give it up. Not everyone thinks that way though.

He's entitled to live in it, but given that he can easily afford to rent privately, maybe that flat should go to someone who is currently renting privately and struggling. A 1 bed privately rented flat round here is very expensive for someone working full time on the minimum wage. Of course I would prefer a drug dealer in it, but I would prefer it to go to someone on minimum wage who is currently stuck in private rented accomodation and struggling with their bills and council tax.
LOL what a load of crap, i'm sorry but unless i win the lottery or come into a good amount of money, i wont be giving up my council house, why would i wait in a hostel for a year to be housed, then give it all up after i've paid rent, and decorated my house nicely to go and pay more than double what i'm paying now, with no security for me and my son, and at the end of the day thigs can go wrong, i may get a new job earning a very good wage, but what happens if say i had an accident and had to give up that good job, where would i be then? up the creek with no bloody paddle thats where!

    Forget it.

It's too complicated to explain without everyone making assumptions and jumping down my throat.

By his own admissions, he is very proud of the fact that he earns an extra £12k per year undeclared to the tax man, and brags about how it means that his ex girlfriends can't get their hands on any more money in child maintenance and he gets to spend it on himself instead.

If you condone this sort of behaviour, then that's your business, but personally I think it sucks.

I'm sorry, is the bit in pink supposed to be your comment, or are you trying to make people think that I said that? That's unfair. You shouldn't try and edit what someone else put.

If it's YOUR comment, then I already pointed out that it's a PERSONAL moral judgement, and in that situation you would stay in a council house. I already said that, so I'm not sure what you're getting at? Each case is different.

I'm talking about a single bloke with plenty of money that could easily afford to rent privately and let someone else have the council house who is in far more need of it.

well duh i wouldnt of put it in bold pink if i was trying to make it look like you said it would i
Where is the difference, he could loose his job tommorrow and be feeked, at least he has a roof over his head and somewhere where his children can visit.
I in the past month or so have met alot of homeless people, quite a few of whom, lost good paying jobs, familys, homes etc, now if they had of had security of a council tennancy, they wouldnt be sleeping in the airports and in tents in the freezing cold in the middle of the woods somewhere.
So no i dont get where you are coming from, and i dont understand your logic.

    .

I damn well think he should be pleased his doesnt have to pay his ex GF anymore money, as he is paying the amount the CSA would ask off him if he was earning £40k, as opposed to 15k - i did the sums earlier, as did another poster.

Report him to the IR for the Ebay stuff if you really believe he isn't spinning you a line, but the rest of your complaint seems unreasonable, which is what most posters are saying.

Edited to say; Assuming you are right about the 15k salary, by forcing him out of the council flat, he would proabably be forced to reduce his Child Maintenance payments to the CSA recommended level if about £150 per month to afford to rent privately.

lol, I like the way you changed your tack to rubbishing him as a father after your inital rant got shot down. I'd quit while you're behind if I were you.

Ahhhh so it's a child support issue that's bugging you, are you the mother to one of this man's children?

Believe it or not NRP are actually allowed to have a life, the ex girlfriend's shouldn't be sitting there thinking of ways to screw this poor guy over...He's paying child support he actually is doing the morally correct thing.

I am a single parent and i can't see where you are coming from whatsoever  would you feel better if the chap didn't have a bean to his name.

A lot of info for a busy body ;) just a little advice money isn't the only thing that's important to a kiddie...some people just can't see past the £££££ signs

My post is about tax fraud, and if people think in general it's morally OK to keep £12k from the "tax man".

Maybe I should have just done a poll instead?

I was thinking most people would think this wrong, and worthy of notifying the tax people, but obviously not, so I won't bother.

I'm not the mother of one of his kids, and would certainly never associate myself with a dishonest person.

I'm just surprised at the amount of people who seem to think it's OK for some to have to pay tax, and others to cheat the tax system. Or maybe I'm naive and tax dodging is common nowadays, and all of you are doing it in some way?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Haven't read all topic but honestly you guys!!!

This guy has got kids!!! It upsets me so much how people discriminate against us males. It's fine for females to have council houses with their kids. And the solution is to make the male homeless??? I have children with a previous partner, we split up and I was homeless. I would never take my children to a bedsit and could only see them if I took them out.

I was a mess, I had a job working at HMRC, earning 12k per year and all I could afford was a bedsit. I lost my job as I was homeless. I applied for a council place and I had nothing. Absolutely nothing. My children lost out on quality time with their father.

Luckily I met my current partner who was a godsend. I now have another job, a home for my children to visit me and all this time my ex has been sat on her a£$% doin nothing but SHE get the accomodation.

where is the logic in that. Where does the word FAIR come into that!??
