It really is silly because we were probably in the Starbucks for less than an hour, but that's too long to have a coffee with a friend according to PE.
You really are making it up as you go along aren't you!!

Just an observation, but this forum appears to have one goal, and that is to assist motorists to ‘get off’ parking charges by hook or crook; regardless of whether the PCN was issued fairly or not. There may be technical loopholes in some instances, but does no one here respect the wishes of private landowners and seek to assist with UNFAIR charges only 🤔0

Generally speaking , I see it as a point or points of law , so if a company fails to comply with various laws or to play fair with motorists or customers or tenants , then they deserve all they get , hence why parliament voted in the 2019 parking bill and the Mhclg cop is currently being drafted
I have been involved in several PCN,s against family and friends , none were fair , some did not adhere to the landowner authority contract , some failed the BPA CoP , none of them were upheld , so clearly they were all unfair
Beckham was guilty of speeding but got off on a technicality , it wasn't fair , but it's the way things are
Murderers get off on technicalities , even if it's unfair to their victims and their families , a lot of unjust things happen
If a parking company have someone bang to rights with no legal loopholes then maybe they should pay , but even then maybe not £100
Landowners often fail to comply with the law like the Equality Act 2010 and so it's unfair on the disabled and vulnerable , they usually wash their hands of the issues and expect the parking companies to do a job of work , even if it's unfair
Predatory ticketing or self ticketing is unfair , but happens daily , same applies to doctored or missing photographs like double dipping etc , or not giving enough time on site , not changing parking time due to covid restrictions like queuing etc. All unfair
Obtaining keeper details too early , unfair
Double dipping cases , unfair
Ticketing people in their own space , unfair
Ticketing people on adjacent roads , unfair
Camouflaging signs on golf club car parks , unfair
Patchy mobile service to pay by app with no cash machines onsite , run by solar panels and situated well into a car park such that even a BPA compliance officer could not comply and beat a hasty retreat before being issued a with a PCN , unfair
So when landowners , managing agents and Parking companies play fair , so will I play fair
At the moment a landowner supermarket has one of my vehicles on a whitelist due to my medical condition and valid blue badge , for over 2 or 3 years , but refuses to put my newer vehicle on that same whitelist , surely that is unfair and breaches the EA 2010 ??
You would expect big supermarket chains to play fair , but I can assure you that they do not play fair , or comply with the laws , many break planning consent and advertising consent rules for cameras and signs , as do many other landowners
I was diagnosed with a recognised disability condition many years ago and have had a blue badge from when they were orange , my employer failed my rights and I received an out of court settlement because they did not want to set a legal precedent which would open the floodgates !!
Since then I have noticed all private landowners ignore my rights under the DDA 1995 , the DDA 2005 update and the Equality Act 2010 as well , so definitely not fair !!
Let them with no skeletons in their own closets be the first to play the fair card !!
Hopefully the new CoP will make them play fair , but can pigs fly ?6 -

You seem very angry; reminds me of Trevor Whitehouse of ANPR Ltd when his toys/clamps were taken away by Government in 2012 and he threatened to sue them for ruining his livelihood...
I can count on one hand the fair private parking charges I've seen (in terms of the parking event) in all that time and even they were extortionate, in terms of money.
This forum is here to assist people against what MPs described thusly, during the debates about the Knight Bill:
''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop'';
unfair treatment;
signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued;
''years of abuse by rogue parking companies'';
bloodsuckers;
''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank'';
extortionate fines; rogue operators;
''sense of injustice'';
unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead;
''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers'';
unreasonable;
a curse;
harassing;
operating in a disgusting way;
appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing;
loathed;
outrageous scam;
dodgy practice;
outrageous abuse;
unscrupulous practices;
''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert'';
and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion:
''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used - check Hansard if you wish. That is the vision we support.
For a start - get the heck out of hospitals and residential estates and life would be a whole lot better for the people entrapped by scumbag parking firms, and get out of Airports with your 'scamera' cars, and stop misusing ANPR or you could just see it taken away in the longer term, like it has been from Local Authorities...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You still there smith140920? I note you've been using Twitter / Starbucks customer services for your landowner complaint. You really need to complain to the manager of Starbucks or their CEO if manager doesn't respond swiftly and positively. And that's if they own the land. Do some digging on Google right now to identify who the landowner or land management company is. Then complain formally and very assertively and clearly but politely insist on cancellation. Do not miss the POPLA deadline.

Parking firms are dangerous to people in this country and your industry needs to cull their conduct and greed, or end up culled.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I could be derogatory about you but can rise above it and should you continue a personal attack I will report you for rule breaking
You would be wise to discontinue and crawl back under the stone you emerged from and you clearly have no idea , just like a blind elk2 -
Well that escalated lol.So going back to my query, I note the regulars comments but in this case the signs appear to have stated that there is a max stay of 1hr.The driver exceed this period and the 10 minute grace period was observed; therefore, the PCN was issued fair and square was it not?
It may be the case that some think that motorists should have longer than an hour, but if that’s what the landowner wants; that is there right.Despite this fact, some of you guys will still seek to find a loophole to exploit or advise the OP to badger the landowner/leaseholder until they give in for some peace.
What I’m getting at, is if you get your wish list from the PAS, will the regulars move on to more deserving causes and help fight animal cruelty, fox hunting, online grooming etc (just examples, there are many), or will you still be here undermining the rights of private landowners even where the PC’s would have been issued fair and square? Sadly I fear the latter based on the responses.0 -
, please don’t spout your lies and say you do, you’re literally clueless...
Oh dear, reported.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -
You are wrong.Happyslappy said:
Not really, the time limit is agreed between the owner of the land and PE. It’s a service station? I imagine you would have had chance to pay to increase your stay..smith140920 said:

There was no option to pay and increase the stay, but judging from other responses to you everyone knew that already.
You guessed it.. wrong again.Happyslappy said:

The PPCs suggest and push to tighten time limits all the time, it's part of the business model to get more money from sites.
For example, P/Eye cause Aldi to reduce their time limits and 'assist with' Council applications to vary the planning consent, giving some old dross about increasing footfall. I read one about Portslade Aldi, completely written in PPC-speak, when they succeeded in eroding a 3 hour free limit down to half that, over the years. There was no way the application was written in Aldi's own words.
Are you implying that my £100 parking fine for spending 1 hour in Starbucks is fair? It's hard to believe you do not have some sort of agenda here, or work for one of the organisations who send out these harassing letters.AnotherForumite said:Just an observation, but this forum appears to have one goal, and that is to assist motorists to ‘get off’ parking charges by hook or crook; regardless of whether the PCN was issued fairly or not. Thanks. I am going to look into that option this afternoon and see what I can pull up. There is another week and a half until the PE appeal deadline.MistyZ said:You still there smith140920? Putting the above aside for one minute.. can we ban the obvious trolls on this forum? My thread is a genuine one that I am hoping to keep updated as we move forward. I don't want this getting locked or removed because the angry men of the scamming industry are kicking up a fuss on it.8
