Morning
Hope you're all good today. Sun is shining here
@alt80 can you take up a low cost hobby? I sew (in case you didn't realise
), knit, ramble & forage and have an allotment. All low cost activities that keep me busy! I just don't see buying stuff as a leisure activity anymore
Today:
* this morning I have been sewing a gift for a friend's daughter's birthday gift
* have done almost 1/2 of my 15 mins tidying for the day
* B/L from stores
* dinner will be at a party we are going to - real 2 minds about it!
* hopefully I can convince oh to do a bit of decorating with me. Builder has been in touch and will be starting work soon!
* I have 2 repairs/alterations I want to do before I start on a dress I'm excited to make. It will be a challenge and I'm imagining it will look fabulous
* frog all of the toe decrease on the sock I'm knitting because I didn't read the instructions properly!
sock making out of wool I bought last year!
* nip to the allotment for an hour
* take dog for a walk
* get some inspiration for the glut of tomatoes I have
Ok that's loads! Have a good day all

He likes anything active swimming/football/cycling etc. Did take him to see some motorsport once he loved that. Films just general kid stuff really.5

Sounds a lot like my boy at that age - we spent hours in various parks all over the city we live. One of the best activities I did was usually at the the beginning of the 6 weeks holidays, I used to get him to write a list of all the things he'd like to do - park, cinema, picnic, swimming etc - sometimes we'd recreate the cinema at home with popcorn, drinks etc or we'd have a real cinema trip or we'd spend the day at a park exploring, walking, parkour and a picnic (and Dad would pick us up after work). Sometimes kids want the simple things in life and we as parents overthink it.alt80 said:He likes anything active swimming/football/cycling etc. Did take him to see some motorsport once he loved that. I know these are strange times we're in at the min but when things get back to normal why not do a Park run together followed by breakfast out - doesn't have to be a weekly thing but great memories. In the meantime why not sign up for a virtual race/event - we all love a medal and lots of charities are struggling with funding at the min so pick a charity close to your heart and have some quality time too. Enjoy your son, they grow up so fast and sometimes they're just happy to have you home and dont need to be doing stuff all the time.
Whatever you do, enjoy and try not to be too hard on yourself - you're doing great!!

@ziggy2407 love the virtual park run suggestion thanks. Going to try to come up with some things to do next weekend as a family I think. After a bit better afternoon in-laws have taken my wife and son for a bbq.6
