Get a strong coffee down you in the morning and try first thing tomorrowalt80 said:Picked up the phone to initiate the voluntary termination but put the phone down before speaking to someone. I know it needs to be done soon. So was going to be a big step in the right direction but didn't manage it.

This is a fab group to be a part of, most of us have been here years and are now debt free but stay with the "small things" for support and accountability, we can be a great bunch of motivators too. Keep posting, take it one day at a time as there will be good days and bad days but every journey starts with a single step. We're all here for you and cheering you on.Goodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

@carrielovesfanta drinking so much coffee at the moment to get through the day atm. Still not sleeping well and I know I need to make the phone call. Not going to lie I’m dreading someone asking after it and feel everyone knows. I can believe people had their suspicions about me but I didn’t want to have to admit it in public. Fairly certain my wife’s parents know I heard her on the phone telling them she is ok and not in any trouble. Won’t be able to face her dad ever again I don’t think after this tbf. (He’s often made comments like I’m more ‘big finance’ than ‘big money’. True I know but embarrassing.

Forget what other people may or may not think of you. Who cares?alt80 said:@carrielovesfanta drinking so much coffee at the moment to get through the day atm. Seriously @Alt80 it really doesn't matter what other people think of you, or your situation. I recognise this anxiety of yours in myself when I was younger, and the liberation when I got to realising that their opinions are their own business, and not mine, was overwhelming. My in laws didn't think much of me either, and it hurt when I was young, so I do sympathise. What on earth did that comment of your father-in-law's mean anyway? You are certainly not the only business person struggling. We live in uncertain times and none of us knows what is round the corner. All the best to you and your family.I didn't achieve much yesterday because my hip was hurting and it was painful to walk on. It is a bit better today - I know it will pass because it is only a nuisance thing, nothing serious, comes and goes every now and then. The nice nurse who explained the xray results to me said that it a common thing among people who do sport, and he has similar in his knee due to playing football. I am probably the world's least sporty person lol. OH rather unsympathetically suggested I better ease up on the downhill skiing
Anyway, I am going to do some food and clothes sorting today. I did manage yesterday to list on ebay a load of jeans that don't fit and are clogging up my wardrobe. Most have watchers and / bids already. Some are virtually new, a result of recent online shopping (They weren't expensive ones, and I know I should have sent them back, but mistakenly decided to persevere, but one pair is too big and the other just not a good fit
) and some are ancient and / or sadly too small now. Interestingly the ones that seem to have the most interest at the moment are some very elderly patched M&S ones which I wore for years and were secondhand when I got them
At any rate, they will all be out of the way, and I will recoup some of the money I spent on the couple of unsuitable new pairs during lockdown. The fridge and larder are bursting and need sorting to ensure that nothing goes to waste, and meals today will involve using up stuff that is already prepared / cooked - though OH did ask for an apple crumble, and is off to get some apples from a neighbour for that purpose. Might just make a crumble for the neighbour too

@alt80 - You don't need to explain yourself, or why the car is gone to anyone. If anyone thinks less of you for taking control of your situation, well, I'd say that you don't need that type of person in your life. You should be really proud of yourself for getting on top of this now before it really got out of hand.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.315

Morning folks
@DawnW - I hope your hip is better today.
Not sure what I'm doing today apart from work. Need to do SoM budget sheet and meal plan. Other than that, just the usual I think! Had a nice little pootle up to the allotment last night which was quite relaxing. Maybe I can persuade OH up there tonight
Have a good one all

Thanks. Well I’ve arranged it. The third car is now going.
what debt free thing am I doing today?1. Counselling session for my mindset.2. Taking a 1-2 day break from trying to make all the figures work. Come back to it with a fresh mindset in a few days and get some sleep.8 -
