@warby68 thank you. Some things will work for some and not for others; we need to work on our trust and respect for each other and tbh that wasn't going to be achieved going down the personal spends road for us.
Ha, no, not fallen off the wagon and tbh we are much closer than we ever have been rn need each other lol.
I am trying to keep some kind of balance between work and home, protecting weekends as much as I can but I think I'll always put work first - tbh if I didn't things wouldn't be so good. However definitely starting to recognise working too much !!!!!! things for me too.
Trying to improve my own life and in turn that of those around me.4 -
So pleased that things are sounding so much more positive for you and the Mrs. She’ll get there, it will just take time. You’ve done amazingly well, you could even be a mentor for others trying to come off the drugs/booze, maybe something to think about.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Made it to Saturday another week through, idk where the year is going; have to admit I didn't think I'd get to this age where I'd be wondering where the weeks went but as I've got older time does seem to have accelerated. We are not doing a lot this weekend - just having a quiet one. Son having his best mate around to bake bread and we've got the parents coming to try it afterwards haha. Also want to get out for a decent walk, probably have the other boy tagging along for that tbh his parents aren't very active and he's full of beans lol so probably have a coffee out somewhere but not planning to spend a lot at all this weekend. Also hoping to spend a bit of time working out where we are with our finances, make sure we are on track.
Todays cal 'bring to mind people you care about and send love to them'
@Sun_Addict thank you, I hope you're right. At some point I would like to give something back but rn I need to spend this coming year focusing on my business and family but it's in the plan for me at some point.
@ladyholly thank you.5 -
I think you are right to spend this year consolidating your gains in life and enjoying your family. Have a great weekend.

Sounds like a lovely day. Enjoy. There’s something amazing about fresh bread.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x1 -
Thanks all.
Had to laugh at the cal this morning ‘take three calm breaths at regular intervals during your day’; could have done with that this weekend tbf had to break out the !!!!!! anger management tools lol.
Start of Saturday was really good tbf, we were prepared for the boys making a mess in the kitchen but they loved it and the bread was really nice. Got out for a good walk and had a kickabout in the garden. All good and just the cost of a coffee and 2 cookies, wasn’t sharing 1 between 4 lol. @warby68 they were definitely proud of the baking and with good reason, the bread was delicious tbf. All downhill from a great start though, actually felt a bit sick handing my card over when I filled my Range Rover - £250 fml think I’ve got used to running the electric car ha. Sunday weather was at least better, some signs of spring around the corner, 100% fed up of this cold.
Went for a meal with in-laws including 2 of wife’s siblings and one brought along husband and kids. They were all drinking, I wasn’t and get an interrogation from the wife’s sister’s husband ‘he didn’t know I had a problem with drinking’, then he wanted to talk about my addiction which I asked for him not both because I didn’t want to and my son was there tbf he was sat with his cousins at the other end of the table. It was !!!!!! awful and know some would say it’s what I deserve but definitely hurts more when I’m trying anything I can not to slip. Sunday evening was a write off, was wanting to put a figures update up on here but I just went to bed very early.3 -
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the meal. But look at it from a different point of view. You got through it, you stayed calm and you are able to write about it here and reflect on the day. That's all big progress.4
