You’re not a bad person. I wish you’d start believing that. You’ve made mistakes and had an addiction that you are dealing with.

    Totally agree with this.

    100% agree with this.

We all make mistakes. It is how we deal with them and learn from those mistakes that shapes who we are and who we become.
  • So do i. Very well done its so nice to hear about your family and what you are doing together. Be proud of yourself and what you have achieved FS

    Thank you all.

In-laws took my family and out for a meal really enjoyed it, actually was great food but I’m not used to eating massive quantities of food so not feeling great. Kept it AF and was able to drive which after a lot of years anyone but me being trusted to be in a fit state to drive hasn’t stopped being quite nice lol.

Hah - you do seem to have a need for conscious moderation in all things.  Perhaps working out the sweet spot of enjoying eating out and finding a way of taking advantage of the delicious food on offer without actually leaving yourself feeling physically uncomfortable afterwards would be a good project.
6 months is a great number - I admire your strength and determination in this!

    Day 183

Thanks all. I am working with the pros still not finding it easy but the addiction is not winning. I don't ever want to return to the place I was in life. I was forever chasing the next level in everything and even now it's not like I want to give up but realising for the first time in my life I can live on my income comfortably is incredibly liberating and almost entirely to do with me getting my own plans together and taking on board advice given to me - life is a learning curve. For me it was my mindset that's caused me a lot of problems for a long time, anyone struggling if I can get to the other side of addiction anyone can 100%.

@theoretica haha 100% needed I just couldn't resist a dessert lol. I'm finding quite a lot of carb heavy type foods I'm struggling with rn generally tbf just need to keep an eye on it and not be gluttonous.
  • You are starting to sound quite content with your lot now. Your posts are a joy to read. Well done on 6 months off the bad stuff.

  • Well done on the 6 months a fantastic achievement.

@enthusiasticsaver thank you I shouldn't be awake at this time lol but I am trying to be, one eye on the future but one trying to stay in the present. I did speak to the pros today tbh was having the thoughts about not earning enough / not doing well enough in business. Picked the phone up and know I'm very lucky to have the level of professional support I have, I know others who don't have that support.

@annabanana82 thank you and I hope so. I need to work on being better for my family give them what my addiction took away I know I can't change the past or make the past better all I can do is improve the present and future by doing better than I did the day before.

Really should be getting to bed tonight if the weather isn't too bad we're going to head to the coast all being well. Son doesn't know but I can't wait to see his face if we do manage to get to see the seals. Thanks again @Grumpelstiltskin and @uralmaid
