Glad it all worked out in the end,  not a lot more to say it speaks for itself along with the other breaks and actually doing things with family it just works.

re engaging properly with your parents is a major step, I think you should look at 2 trips next year, but do watch the weather it can get silly hot in the summer, we have been later in the year and it was cold.

    one observation.
Last few days I’ve hardly slept. Hoping to make the most of the extra hour this evening and try to reset my own sleep clock ha.

I wonder if the root here is the impending change in routine, it happens a lot before any change even the short trips, this time it the coming back to normal life after settling into holiday mode.

I think you have to watch out for returning to the levels of work before you went away,  business has done fine for 2 weeks with minimal effort from you so keep that momentum your team can carry on doing what they do and you can focus on the more important things to get that sustainable growth.

Cross into month 6 this this week amazing.

Welcome home, glad you all had a brilliant time. Many more trips to look forward to making fantastic memories for your son. Well done on staying off the stuff for so long, you sound so much happier these days.

What a lovely post and so glad you all had a nice time and made some family memories with your Parents. I am sure you have also benefitted from some downtime and can go back to work refreshed. Ease yourself in gently though. Great to keep the costs below £900 as well. Doing a holiday on a budget is fantastic but presumably your parents paid for a fair bit as they will have wanted to spoil you all. That is what parents/grandparents do if they are able to. It won’t always be that cheap but at least you know that you are able to stay on plan even if you have access to your cards. To get back to some sort of normality you need to have access to money. You have done well sticking away from the destructive stuff but I guess like an alcoholic the cravings never go away but you learn to manage them. At some point you need to trust yourself.

You have lots to look forward to. I love the sound of the RHS garden lit up for Christmas. We have one near us but sadly I am not sure my husbands stamina is up for a trip round that just yet after his open heart surgery. Enjoy your day today. No doubt there will be some Halloween activity going on.

Glad that your holiday went well and you had a good time. Keep going with your D & Af  days you are doing so well. Keep going and keep your working hours down so you have plenty of family time.
Thinking about you having a personal card again have you considered a prepaid card (I know people have suggested it for your wife) so you have a little bit of money  but not enough to go silly?
A £25000 ring :open_mouth: Is she being real that is over a years salary for many people.

Very pleased to read about enjoying your holiday together with your family. Well done at not letting your sister's very unhelpful comments derail the enjoyment. It also sounds like you have some things to look forward too, enjoy the RHS garden visit.

Well they say a fool and his money are soon parted.  :D No surprise the daughter in that article  has no respect for anything.

Firstly some people have more money than sense. Secondly how long will it be before she kills or seriously injures herself or someone else and who will be to blame? I think more driving lessons and a trip around a hospital that rehabiltates people after car accidents might be a better use for the money.

I have no objection to spending £25000 on a ring if you have the money but alt is trying to reduce his debts and the thought of his wife wanting to spend that amount of money on something so unecessary is what really made me gasp.
  • Welcome back. So glad it was what you needed and sounds like some great family time.
