@getmore4less thank you, think you’re onto something there mate, I’ll copy and put in notes ha.

100% re my parents had the ‘we’re still your mum and dad’ chat lol. Tbf would probably be weird in 30 years time our boy coming to stay with his Mrs and family and him paying for everything. !!!!!! scary thought that haha.

@warby68 haha glad people on here get my like for the numbers. My Mrs thinks it’s ridiculous.

True tbh I had moments I didn’t think I was going to get on the plane really wasn’t in a good place few weeks leading up to it. Holidays prior to this year have been going for my wife and spending the whole time wanting to get back to use. !!!!!! horrendous I’ve missed out on holidays that should have been amazing due to addiction was there but not really. Able to see it now, the things it took from me.

I’ve done winter hols before not quite get back put clocks back then next day clock back again though fml timed that just right eh.

@Four_Seasons / @Sun_Addict / @Purplelady65 / @Humdinger1 thank you. Lifestyle here is just very relaxing generally idk I’m quite liking it too many years of burn out.

Glad you can now see the benefit of a relaxing break. Drugs took so much from you and you are doing brilliantly in staying clean. Enjoy the rest of your break.

So glad to hear you are enjoying spending time with your parents.

Perhaps you’ll now start to see why we don’t aim for the moon and are more content with aiming for happy. It’s a much nicer place to be.

Hold on to that truth, alt, and keep it as a motivator to defeat those cravings when the addiction tries to seduce you into losing your recovery.

Great to read that your holiday continues to be a triumph and has brought you clarity in other areas - so chuffed for you.

And well done for being on day 144 - you are doing brilliantly well.
  • Great to read you're having a great trip. They probably don't need anything 'nice for Christmas' with you and your family 'being present' far outweighing any monetary remuneration you could give.
  • Do you think you’d give up the RR for public transport over here or is that a step too far? 😂

Great you’re enjoying it abs sounds like your parents are loving having you all there too.

Day 145 thanks all, not been a great day today.

Have been ignoring a few fairly hurtful comments from sister and husband since they've been here but my Mrs went !!!!!! mad yesterday after sister decided she'd ask the girl my Mrs went out into town with if my wife was out for 'more than a drink'. Had to be just before we were going for a big walk to a monument today and spending all day with them all too. Today has been !!!!!! horrendous and tbh I spent money I shouldn't have really. I look at it tonight and I know why I insisted on picking the bill up when I wasn't meant to be. Don't know what !!!!!! point I was trying to prove but it upset my parents a bit as it was meant to be a day out for my son's birthday and their treat for that and it just gave sister another free !!!!!! go. Have managed to keep it to one drink over the two days though, it's just not worth it know that much so something positive ha.

Doing our own thing tomorrow, going to cost a bit of money but was planned anyway. Spends still under any loose target I set and overall it's been really good - focus on the good and keep with the programme.

@Willowtree222 haha I don't think so I can't !!!!!! wait to get back into a nice car missing them 100% and I'm whacked without it.

@RelievedSheff bringing the sun back to NG end of October? You make me smile ha, that's called wishful thinking mate.

I think I remember from earlier in your diary that your BIL likes a nice bottle of wine at your expense. Translate that to nice day out in this scenario.

I’m quite glad your wife bit back but also that you largely held your cool.
