Go home and have a cuddle with your wife on the sofa instead. A free gift for her. Tell her you are proud of her.
Please don't buy a present this is just your addiction playing games in your head again.3 -
Why not take her out somewhere nice for a meal instead of spending crazy money on stuff she doesn’t need. I’m sure she’d appreciate it and it won’t cost anywhere near as much. Make it a date night.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Give her a big hug and a kiss, and tell her that you are really proud of her. That will mean a lot to her.Credit card debt - NIL
Home improvement secured loans 30,130/41,000 and 23,156/28,000 End 2027 and 2029
Mortgage 64,513/100,000 End Nov 2035
2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 20362 -
Day 117 through. Only spent as planned glad I wrote down the thoughts about spending - it was stupid and wouldn’t help. Actually told wife she said she doesn’t want anything and why do I want to do that when we’re both working towards spending less generally got a point. She definitely knows she did me proud today 100%.
@Sun_Addict you’ve reminded me I keep meaning to book a meal at Lakeside (old Bestwood pumping station). Few of my staff have been and said they enjoyed it. I was meant to go weekend after I got out of rehab I think but the weather was terrible and it was outside seating only. Really !!!!!! annoying thing is they are doing a Halloween event for kids, looks great and we will miss it - in Greece.
I’m absolutely whacked again. Not even 9pm and thinking about getting my tea made and putting my audio book on in bed. Not great at all.2 -
Subject of spending haha fml @annabanana82 have you seen the Halfeti trade routes gift set? Would be a great Christmas gift. I do want to get a fragrance gift for wife but I’ve got Halfeti which she sometimes wears on a night out, Halfeti Leather after recommendation on here no way would wife wear that but I love it, wear it a couple of times a week so only Cedar we don’t have and tbh wife only wears Halfeti prob handful of times a year. They’ve got the advent cal in too.1

The trade routes gift set is a pretty good deal I think. Same as the advent calendar I'm pretty tempted by that but will wait and see when my pay increase comes in.
Heard last years advent calendar is in Bicester village for £225 so a bit of a saving on this years editionMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...2 -
If you still want to show your appreciation for your wife’s efforts in reducing her spending could you not buy her a card and write something nice in it? Even maybe an inexpensive bunch of flowers?2

@annabanana82 ha do you wear the leather? You must be a bold woman lol. It is a good deal don’t tempt me anymore than I already am doing what I can to talk myself out of it.
Cedar been described as like Halfeti at Christmas. I can believe that. Really not sure it would be right for a woman. Don’t tempt me with a drive to BV fml I’m def in the mood to spend, let myself I know I could go on a massive spending binge pull out going to Greece and do BV and spa stay one weekend, back to NG for short week at work, London for a long weekend the next now that’d be a good hol.
@Purplelady65 I’m good with gifts but I’m not great with sentimental type stuff lol tbf she’d 100% love that though.0 -

It doesn’t have to be anything sentimental. A nice thank you card with a little note inside to say you appreciate her efforts in reducing her spending I’m sure would be of value to your wife. We’ve introduced an e-card thank you scheme at work as well as 10 awards a month where colleagues can nominate someone who’s gone above and beyond. Employees really value just being nominated for the monthly award or receiving an e-card. It’s someone taking the time and effort to show they are appreciated that means a lot to people.0 -
Talk of the spending spree and weekends reminded me to say...
we did a couple of night in London if at all covid cautious don't bother.
Very busy and people have given up wearing masks on public transport.1
