@warby68 I don’t want to go back to day 1 ever again tbh. Definitely not looking forward to the hol will be very glad when its over. Things aren’t amazing so !!!!!! whacked I’ve not really been up to anything but work and only just getting through that.
I didn’t have a too bad day yesterday apart from video GP thing tbf. Always do get tired around 9.45/10.30pm usually just manage to power through it possibly is stupid as when I’m asleep earlier I’m waking no alarm which is maybe a good sign.
I just want her to have nice things - I know I’m not really providing her with anything really high end anymore. Enjoyed last years advent and she did though it was definitely good value.0 -
@alt80 For minor complaints you can try a pharmacist first. That gets you face to face and some are very experienced with what various skin issues look like and stock a whole host of relevant lotions and potions and will recommend GP if appropriate.
Then if whatever they suggest doesn't work or they recommend GP you can approach the GP with that 'back up'

I'm glad they didn't cave in to you telling them you wanted the tests.
Being asked whether you use drugs would have been a pretty standard question for your symptoms?
I agree with your wife and don't see from what you've written that how you were dealt with justifies a " this sort of treatment" attitude. They did look after you, they just didn't pander to your demands.
Anyway, glad you didn't turn out to have cancer and hope your eye problem resolves itself/gets treated/clears up.3 -
What's wrong with your eye? CT magic cream is only a fancy moisturiser so unless it's a dry skin thing then I don't suppose it will have much affect.
I agree with the post above, see a pharmacist they are well trained to deal with these sort of thingsMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Ditto advice on seeing a pharmacist. Make sure you ask to see the duty pharmacist, not just whoever is staffing the pharmacy at the time. They are highly qualified professionals & have certainly helped us with a few things over the years, which did not warrant the time of a GP. Worth a try. I had a couple of years of anxiety disorder myself years ago & I do understand the ability of a stressed mind to blow every little medical thing up into the worst case scenario.

P. S - And as for doctors asking if you use recreational drugs. This is not an unusual question. I have been asked it myself on a few occasions.

Since you started here you thought most people you dealt with did not know.
Most did and you can be sure your NHS Dr.(s) knew as well

The NHS has limited resources so just because you wanted tests isn’t a valid reason for having them. There has to a medical reason for tests to be ordered. The symptoms you presented with to the GP obviously didn’t raise any undue concerns that there might be something more serious going on. I appreciate from what you’ve said that you were very anxious about it but that isn’t a reason for ordering unnecessary tests. I think they were trying to help you in identifying your health anxiety, stress e.t.c.1

Very impressed with my wife, she’s been out bought the things we agreed for son and gone back home. Met her for lunch but she could have stayed in town but didn’t. £0 additional spend apart from a coffee and lunch which is accounted for anyway I’m very pleased with that. Could have gone mad if she’d wanted but chosen not too. She’s done very well today. Definitely think I should treat her to something, doing super well rn.
Re health idk probably am concerned over nothing and a bit paranoid really. It’s def nothing major know that much see how next few days goes and try pharmacy maybe.Re tests I wasn’t in a good place and believing I had what I thought trusting a GP on a whim wasn’t going to ease any concerns. Possibly should have, wife pointed out lunchtime I’d be angry if someone doubted my judgement without any reason to on a unit.4 -
Do not treat her to something. That completely misses and undermines the point 😒7
