Sorry yesterday was a battle despite the milestone. I should imagine there is some addiction wiring there not letting you enjoy such things too much as they mean you're succeeding. I have another landmark for you - today/tomorrow represents a QUARTER OF A YEAR. Real time.
Hope today is better.
Get thinking about son's presents. What about a parent and child cookery class? They have them in our area for about £90 for half a day. That's in a really posh suburb so might be cheaper elsewhere. A new football - they always like a new football. Does he support a team yet? Some team merch as long as its not too rip off. The children's stuff used to reasonable to be fair. Personalised things - mine always loved those. Not clothes because of stranger danger but sets of pencils, a cooking apron and little chef's hat maybe. And Lego - always.

Day 91 today. Hope it is a better one for you.
I agree with the other that for presents give experience days. They will be much more appreciated in the long run than something that gets played with once and then forgotten about. An experience day will make memories that last for a lifetime.2 -
Day 91, should make time to respond properly. Made time this morning to take my boy to school for first day back. New uniform for junior years, he was so proud to be going into school as a junior lol. I know I've missed out on a lot, spoke to pros and my wife has been looking after me just need to keep on getting through each day. Have needed to leave looking at next four months on the list for the weekend just not in a good frame of mind to deal with much other than work and keeping on the recovery path.
Has been a good day working been mentoring one of the new starters. Looking forward to seeing them build their career. Not managed to !!!!!! up with having a card in my wallet again haha.
@warby68 thank you I can't quite believe first quarter through but here we are. Idk what success is think I'll always see myself as a failure; always used to think I'd reach some milestone and suddenly everything ok, made it. Not the case, reach one goal and next one becomes more urgent. That doesn't go away and I know by a lot of measures I am ok just what I have is never enough for me and not enough to give to my family. Son goes to a good school but I drove by the school my mate's kids attend working today, proper boarding place that I can't afford to send my son to makes me disappointed in myself even though he's happy where he is. Thought when I bought the house I have now would be a game changer and long term think I'd made it, lasted until just after we'd completed works then same !!!!!! nagging I've not done well enough thoughts. Idk how anyone gets to the point they feel they are 'succeeding' unless they can truly say they're the best in the business. Rest of us just trying to muddle through.
My son would love the cookery class thank you will have to have a look if there are any close. Thanks for other gift suggestions - not just warby I'm too tired to go through all but have copied and pasted suggestions in the notes to think about this weekend. Had to smile at the new football suggestion lol like you read my son's mind there ha. For his sins he's a Forest fan lol all FILs fault I have said we need to go to a match as a family; he'd love it. Also a big Lego fan - prefers his Lego to gaming by a long way. Likes the garden as I've said and dog walks. That's probably about it tbh. He'd be !!!!!! buzzing if he got a personalised apron and chefs hat haha thanks for that one wouldn't have thought about that and I don't think my Mrs would have either.
@RelievedSheff he has asked for some more weekends away so you're probably onto something there mate.6 -
You’re doing amazing Alt. 91 days is huge.Sorry your head space isn’t great, just do what you need to get through and the rest can wait.
My trigger came when I was ill, it was just the shock realisation that this could be it and what have I focussed my life on. I know that’s not helpful as it isn’t a technique I applied, it just happened. You are enough.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x3 -
Day 92.
Have you got any plans for the weekend?1 -
Day 92 terrible night's sleep last night absolutely whacked before the day has even really started fml. Some work to do and take my Mrs out for lunch or rather she's taking me out for lunch ha. Pick son up later and go for a walk. Evening in and try to go to bed early.
No real plans for the weekend other than going for a big walk, few jobs around the house, sorting the plan for the next four months out.
@Willowtree222 thank you. I get the realisation thing lockdown 1 made me see a different side to life prior to that I spent no time with my family didn't really spend time with my Mrs either was a bit of a shock being home but actually quite nice.4 -
Bit of good news wife put a few low value items up for sale yesterday and already sold 2 without any fuss same person so that’s an extra £170.6

Just had 20% off Lego message from JL. Think it’s generic so anyone else with kids, it’s worth a look. 👍3

Didn’t go out to lunch in the end I didn’t really feel up to it just had a fajita wrap at home. Took a call from my mate wanting to store his car again told him £200/m there’s a space in NG whenever he wants !!!!!! hilarious thing is he’s took it ha. Can’t start renting parking spaces at my comm office beyond that and why I gave price I did but will take that bit of extra money to throw towards that mortgage at least ha. Does mean ill have to learn to park in one space if he’s there though.1
