Haha must admit I had a little giggle out loud when I read the delight in your post about your milk float experience mate!!! Seriously though well done on the progress you have made, it is like reading a different diary. Of course there is still going to be some crappy days and challenges, but the way you are handling those are much more refreshing than the old way. Keep going

well done @alt80 - cars are like that sometimes you now you have to get something less exciting (when I went from x-Type company car - to Zafira), but then you find you actually really like it.  My boss test drove all the electric cars and was pretty keen until pandemic hit.  I don't know if he looked at the EQC but it looks great - enjoy
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Day 65 through was always in the bag - been out with my family all day. Some money spent but not stupid amounts and no extra sales lol. Tonight had a bit of a !!!!!! breakdown; my son doesn't trust me I know it is what it is and no more than I deserve but it !!!!!! hurts when we've had a great day as a family together to have him play up this evening.

@efes_shareholder thank you I can definitely relate to everything you've said. Actually think I'm most afraid of just giving in one day - I have to avoid all !!!!!! sorts just to make sure I never come in contact with the !!!!!!. Not gonna lie it concerns me when I hear about people who have stayed off whatever substance for something like your 10 years and wind up back on it fml I don't want to be 50 and back into the stuff. Do know someone that sort of age and a bit, making a massive !!!!!! up of his life or certainly was.

What's your next step - are you going to stick with vaping or looking to quit again altogether?

@Willowtree222 yeah I !!!!!! wish my body didn't need sleep. Tbf I am sleeping better recently but it needs too !!!!!! much lol.

@enthusiasticsaver thank you but it is thanks mainly to my wife's sale. I do need to find the £16 (see what you did there get down to £29999 haha). Yeah I don't think I'm going to get to the point of having them all clear by 0% being due but won't be fat off carrying on as I am. If the wife does a few more sales it's def possible; possible also if we have a super cheap year. Idk chances are I'll have to put a few £k on another purchase but it doesn't seem impossible that it could happen. That seems unreal. About a year I've been on this seriously in some way or another; not spent more than earned for a while not really getting the cravings for spending. Few fleeting moments but generally I'm not even bothered unless you count a few things I'm semi-serious about saving up for / putting on the 0% once I'm debt free. Thrown in 'nice to have' sheet haha.

Do you do a lot of long journeys? We've done 190 miles in the EQC today. You can charge at m/way services; unless you're the sort who won't stop for a coffee it doesn't really add much in the way of time tbh it suits us fine. Tbf where I live is pretty far removed from rural Cornwall though ha.

@MovingForwards thank you tbf the badge was never a problem I was considering a different Mercedes but I'm still really impressed with it today the honeymoon continues haha.

@Sun_Addict thanks, and yeah I need to find the £16 ha.

    @Allikat86 thank you.

Kids test boundaries all the time so I would not pay too much attention to your sons playing up. Keep spending time with him and eventually he will realise he can trust you. Hope the sales continue if they make such a difference. Not the end of the world though if you have to get another purchase card.

We live in Cornwall (only just though as just over the border from Devon so not deepest Cornwall) but not that remote. There are some charging points at our country club and I have noticed some at our local park and ride. My mum lives 250 miles away and I do that journey regularly but do normally stop. Depends on how long it takes to recharge the cars. I am more open to electric than my husband so when we come to change mine I may look at the EQC.

@warby68 haha thanks working on a few new tricks recently mate you on here keep me on my !!!!!! toes lol.

There's some decent deals out there on the EQC if you are seriously interested - lease through ltd.

    @Legs21 thank you.

@getmore4less thought you'd gone on your summer hols lol hope everything on track now mate.

Yeah my head is !!!!!! scrambled takes the brain cells a while to come around to sense speaking fml. Things are ingrained from the years of not being quite with it. Idk no one wishes more than I that I'd !!!!!! off the habit many years ago only screwed myself know that much.

Def no rash decisions re my RR. I did get out in it for a few miles tonight. RR does seem like the last of a bygone era but I still love it different reasons etc though do wonder if my time is running out to have either another V8 sports car or push the boat out and buy a V12. MG mate pointed out going to be a long time still that there is petrol on the roads so perhaps not as desperate as my head tries to tell me it is sometimes. It's no massive deal, just park it.

Re wife I know mate just in my head it's her stuff ultimately doesn't really matter I was the one to buy it or not give a gift and the money is gone. I'm probably always going to think she deserves more hate being told it by others but she probably could have done better than me. Probably still could tbf.

Looking to future I think I probably do need to get on the recruitment wagon again soon. Bit of an odd couple of weeks these past few. I've been pulling 13/14 hour days most days little bit less on weekends some of it was me getting !!!!!! obsessive again rather than 100% needed caught myself in the act and forced myself to rein it in a bit. Thanks for the faith though mate yeah I'm looking forward to all those things tbh my head is a lot clearer than in a very, very long time. Def some thanks due to you and others on here. Fml I get to the point of no PGs I will have !!!!!! made it in my head anyway lol.

Hahaha re getting to the £30k fml.

Will try to enjoy rest of weekend thanks and hope you do to mate.

@Willowtree222 ha fml you just here for bantz again...

@FootyFanDan thanks mate I might be a bit slow but one !!!!!! day I'll get there lol.

@mark55man thanks mate. Like and Zafira fml I'm fairly certain I don't need to have tried it myself to know those two words should not be in the same sentence haha. Def try EQC if considering the shift.

@enthusiasticsaver I hope I don't give him reason not to trust me again spent too much of his life being a let down know that much. I'm a !!!!!! idiot.

Yeah I'm not too bothered about either option tbf. Sounds mad but to my mind I'm making progress and where I am now v where I was pre-lockdown 1 is like night and !!!!!! day.

    Not a !!!!!! chance I'd drive 250miles non-stop tbh I can't drive 100miles without stopping haha - they charge from 10-80% in 40 mins at the services.

Told you the milk float might surprise you 😃

Sure you can find £16 from somewhere to get under £30k.

Hope you have another great family day today. Day 75 will be here before you know it.

    Happy day 66 🙂

A lot of people on here try to use visual aids to help with their debt busting and a common one seems to be colouring in squares for each £25, £50 or £100 they pay off their debt. Maybe you could try this as a family. Print off an A4 or A3 sheet of paper full of squares and stick it where it’s constantly visible to the family i.e. kitchen fridge. Make sure you have a big end family goal treat at the bottom i.e FAMILY TRIP TO DISNEYWORLD, then as you pay off your CC’s get your son to colour each square in yellow. Your son doesn’t need to know you’re paying off debt, just tell him that’s how much money you need to save. Each time your wife spends on stuff out of budget get your son to colour one (or however many) of the yellow squares in red and add new blank square(s) to the bottom. This will also act as a visual aid to your wife showing her how her overspending is impacting the debt repayment and prolonging the end goal. It may also stop your wife from overspending and encourage her to sell more things. If your son is the one colouring the yellow squares in red then he’ll also nag mummy to stop spending money too. Win, win.

It doesn’t have to be the whole £30k on one sheet. You could break it down into smaller goals, say 5k and have cheaper treat goals like FAMILY DAY GO KARTING.

    Just a thought…..

We love our electric car.  To have a normal civilised conversation whilst doing 70 and not having to shout over the engine is fab.

We've had ours since May and charge at home on sunny days (solar panels) and so far the electric bill is £8 higher than previous quarter.   Bonus.
