Don't back down with your wife. Stand your ground. She needs to know you are serious.

Day 59 today. You are doing great. 😀
  • Well done on the 58 days. Well done on standing up to your wife. I know it can't have easy, but she needs to learn that money doesn't grow on trees and that she can't emotionally blackmail you like a spoilt toddler

    Keep up the great work
    Emergency Fund: £500/£1000
    Christmas fund 2023: £94.60/£500

Day 59 and 1st of a new month. Should be home with family but come into office get away from my Mrs ha. Day 60 tomorrow I still don't want anything just going to come into work as usual, mark it off on my calendar and just be glad I've made it and am 2/3 towards the next goal which really does seem unbelievable but carry on same road and I'll get there.

Finally finalised July figures, cleared a !!!!!! abysmal £275 off the total debt. At least it wasn't the !!!!!! negative balance I predicted before Centre Parcs. I've told her I can't go on like this, she sticks to the plan for the rest of this month or she's on further limited access. Only got the spends card but I've had to spend time shuffling money about again to avoid interest. I'm !!!!!! done with this, come to the conclusion it's ridiculous and I should be able to live a decent life without constant credit card debt on my income. Maybe nothing but arrogance on my part but I earn well really clearly !!!!!! spent better for my whole life. Ready to move on, sort the payback, sustainably build my business. Been working on a lot these past few weeks start to see improvements and avenues for growth with a clear head that are more sustainable and less risky. Conscious I'm really struggling to come away from it - suppose that's an addiction in its own right but better than the other type 100% haha. Getting rid of having access to money, it's worked for me tbh I know if I really wanted to I could get access to the money again but I don't want it. Needs to come a time I get my company cards back will make expenses easier to deal with but I think that's about it for me if I need something that's on plan I'll get my Mrs to buy it for me.

This month we have a few days out planned - plan works out at £350/m for entertainment / family days out but some months more likely to spend it than others. We don't really go out for meals out anymore so that's a bit of a saving. My fault really I don't want to go to pubs/ restaurants and the like generally. Idk if that's something I ever really want to do again much.

Now the BMW has gone but with considering a larger spend this month on entertainment / family days etc etc and counting wife's spend but no more I'm looking at a reduction of £2315 on the cards and a outstanding of £30950 by the end of the month. We'll see if that happens by the end of this month. Also have the milk float coming this week idk said I'd use it for some work miles, keep the mileage off my Range Rover and legitimately use the bus lanes but fml I've never been so !!!!!! bored at the thought of getting a new car. Probably how normal people feel about their cars haha.

The milk float 😂 that’s hilarious. I bet you’ll secretly start to love it. You’ll be a milk float secret convert!

Day 59 is amazing. Your wife will get used to it she’s just adjusting to a new way.
    September 2017 Debt = £25330

    Starting afresh.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x

Stand your ground - rethink the allowance.

Perhaps the milk float will distract her a little bit. Its still a 60/70k car isn't it?

Day 59 is brillant and I think you're right to take a break when she's being so provocative. Its a bit like she's torn between wanting you to succeed and wanting you to fail. The spending has such a big pull for her.

    @Willowtree222 haha I don't think so mate.

@warby68 She !!!!!! hates me not treating her I know that's what this is all about. I don't trust her with money tbh though I don't think it's 'spending' as such; she likes the shiny things, doesn't really want to buy them for herself actually prefers I buy them for her lol. She hardly spent when I bought this stuff; it's def more about the thing than the spend iyswiacf. I've had my own problems with compulsive spending coke is not the only reason I'm extremely reluctant to give myself free access to my personal money and what she does isn't that. Though lot of the time I was spending like a madman I was using so idk maybe it was causing the spending maybe.

She's looking forward to the milk float - lot of tech keeps her happy (waiting on !!!!!! Apple iPhone announcements again now ha 100% she'll have one this time). Milk float is significantly more expensive as a lump of metal than the BMW was. No pretence of ownership though it's on the BCH lease.

IF you can't think of anything as a treat just put it aside to add to the next milestone, 75-90..... treat

We pretty much stopped going out for eats a few years back, saved them up for when away from home(short trips) when we do it most days, our proper holidays tend to be inclusive and decent standards

We started up again a couple of months back and it is shocking how not good values some places are, becoming very selective and seeking out vouchers.

    Bring on day 60....

you need to get this set up in the car.
