@RelievedSheff had the Big Mac. Few days of cooking my own meals, good coffee at home etc realise how !!!!!! Maccys is. Sat eating whilst thinking could make a much better burger at home wrote a !!!!!! list of ingredients on my phone. Fml I’m turning into my dad. Not allowed burgers usually so going to do it one day wife is with the in-laws for lunch, she’s given me some cash to go to supermarket and I’m working at home. Craving food all the !!!!!! time carry on this road I’ll be some 20stone fat !!!!!! lol.
@efes_shareholder gym is a good one tbf mate. I’ve got a bit of at home gym but do miss being a member of a proper gym with a pool etc idk shouldn’t be spending money though.
Enjoyed the drawing at rehab. Keep thinking about buying a sketchbook and drawing some things I see in my garden bit sad really I know ha but at least a safe hobby and don’t have to leave the house.
@JGB1955 did you mention that before? Yeah it def looks like something my son would enjoy thank you. My in-laws are doing a lot of walking with him, I’ve sent wife a link to pass on. 👍 In-laws not on speaking terms to me right now.
@getmore4less ha !!!!!! ha mate. You did make me smile tbf lol.

Your body is telling you that it needs energy. Let it have it while you are recovering.
You can deal with any excess weight later on when you are in better health.
Sitting and sketching isn't sad. It is a relaxing and cheap pass time. If you enjoy it, do it. Keep your mind active.
You are going to have an uphill struggle now to convince the in laws, your wife and your son that you are trustworthy. But stick with it, they will come round in the end.2 -
things are going good,
clothes audit little surprised by that after the response to the suggestion but good on you for getting it stated, part of the reflection is can you extract value from what you have.
if hungry eat, the advantage of DIY is it uses up time and is satisfying also you can make a proper 1/2lb burger
A trick I have yet to try is an upside down charcoal starter, big enough for a mini BBQ for one burger or a few sausages saves messing up inside on a nice day.
On that thing about the son not having a play room, if the longer term plan is to enjoy the house you have, what about creating space with something in the garden, might not be a super cheap option but could be value if you can get the use out of it.
maybe office, gym, play area away from the house could free up a room inside as well.
seen people utilise space above a garage.
or could be mainly summer use(cheaper) outside den he can hang out with the creche mates.
You have the skillsets and contact to do this maybe something to work on with some drawings.
Got a suitable tree could work on a tree house together.

I second the tree house. We've build platforms around the three trees in my front garden- one ends in a slide and the other two have rope bridges in between. My daughter loves playing on them and it's an easy entertainment win when she has a friend round to play.Bottom line;
£49k paid off
Car HP paid off
Debt Free!
Saved Escape fund and moved out.

Well for all my plans to do my garden, I got home sat on my sofa and fell to sleep until my wife let herself in for dinner. No dinner prepped / no garden. Wife has done both. I'm absolutely whacked been sleeping ok for me past few days but I'm !!!!!! exhausted this evening. Had session on the therapy late missed scheduled time being asleep they were ok with it though. TV until it gets dark 9.30/10pm and start again tomorrow morning I think fml lol.
@RelievedSheff You're right and I'm too old for it mate. Yeah I enjoy it and thanks.
@getmore4less lol I found some clothes I didn't know I had thought might as well know what I actually do and don't have. Very little right about the way I've lived my life so far change as good as a rest eh.
Ha thought of my son with the charcoal starter lol he'd love watching me make a burger for him like that.
@getmore4less / @Kakiste Long term plan re res home idk right now. Longest time I've ever lived in a house and only one I've ever thought of as home. Projects you mention are both something I have considered before on a few occasions. Did sketch out a few ideas tbf including a tree house actually ha though do think probably need to get out of the city for son's sake long term, arguments for staying in town though too damned if you do/ damned if you don't idk.
@efes_shareholder I'm not loving being out of the house right now but def something for me to park and think about later on. Maybe if I get to 30 days milestone. Thank you.1 -
Don’t fall into the trap of buying loads of stuff for your potential new art hobby until you’ve tried it out! A regular pencil and a piece of printer paper will do to start with.4

@stymied I wasn't joking when I said I've got ready access to £20 cash and that's it lol. Well I spent £7.84 in total on a Maccys and a Starbucks today so I've actually £12.16 currently. Expensed but had to use the cash as I asked my wife to take my company cards too. Bit embarrassing having to ask places if they're taking cash right now tbh lol. I can't even fill my own petrol tank or do my own food shopping currently so realistically not going to go spending a load of money on art supplies lol.
Gave the wife details to access a credit scoring app so she can see I've not got a new card too before anyone asks.6 -
