First Steps to Solvency

Boiled egg and a slice of toast is not enough for breakfast with the calories you are burning.
Throw a bowl of cereal with full fat milk on top of that
Are you getting any food cravings, the body can be quite good at knowing what it needs.
Don't be sucked in by the P&O cruise they are desperate to get something going as have just cancelled a load through to Sept because they just can't happen due to covid.
These cruises to nowhere are going to be fillers if they can run them which is not certain yet as FCO advice has not been changed yet from don't go on a cruise..
I think they may price these on the high side as they may have to run under capacity, they used to do them for £100pn our last short 3n one with them stung us for £650+expenses for an inside(fine for a short trip) if you wanted a decent cabin(which I think you will) say good by to over £1500+1 -
My turn to be stuck on the phone waiting for an idiot to pick up FML lol.
@RelievedSheff Too many years of spending like a madman so I want to come in under budget for everything can be done 100% lot of people living on a lot less than I am. If we come in on budget it’s all been accounted for which for me is still good but I’m seeing them all as targets to smash. I’ve got a lot of years to make up for - wife doesn’t see that though she still wants lifestyle over business. Every underspend is something more off the debt and when the debt is gone something extra towards more income producing activities. More (sustainable) income, more toys. Who knows one day I might be rich lol.
@getmore4less ha yeah get a lot of food cravings but don’t agree re body knows what it needs - not in my case anyway spent too many years !!!!!! up. If I put the stuff into my body that it craves 100 not a good thing lol. Def in a calorie deficit at the moment have been losing weight and muscle/ strength despite training. Thought I was about the only person in the uk who still bought whole milk though haha. Can’t stand the skimmed milk. Do get some fats between us with the whole milk and proper butter probably not healthy but don’t have lots of it.
I’m not particularly keen on the cruise and agree re cabin etc. Wife wouldn’t want an inside cabin (neither would I) I don’t think. She sees it as something different I don’t think quite realises those inside cabins have no natural light and from what she can tell food is included. Not been on one before, half think she’s interested because it’s something different to try it, she thinks it’s going to be cheap to get people on board (could go either way IMO). Can imagine they are a virus’ dream so not surprised the advice has not changed.
My wife is a lot more into the holidays than I am part of me wonders if I might enjoy them a bit more though now I’m off the stuff and planning to stay off. Not a good thing can spend a fortune on trips away know that much and I need to stay strong, make up for the !!!!!! ups. Don’t need expenses that are just spaffing money up the wall rather than doing something wiser with it.

Simple if you are losing weight and muscle you are not taking in enough food. That would also contribute to tiredness. What you don't seem to have learned yet is to switch off your brain. You have to realise that the effects of your years of a drug habit have changed you body chemistry and it will take time to restore balance. The first thing is to tell your wife that if she wants to live on chicken salad fine but you are working and need proper meals and your son is a growing lad and also needs proper food.3

I agree with others that you are doing more in your hours, where you used to coast along and dabble on a computer. Brains use a lot of energy and getting tired towards the end of the day is normal, other wise you haven't used all your resources. Also there will be aspects that your body needs a bit of time to get used to this and to doing more with your time - like any other training regime it needs a couple of months to settle in.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

The trick is to work out what the body needs from the cravings and then find the sensible options that have them.
You just don't get enough from chicken salad.
top up the basic 4 choose carefully the other stuff gets included(trace elements need a mix of resources).

WRT the cruise, when I did a cruise I went for an inside room, you spend little time in there and I slept so well. My parents always go for an outside cabin the balcony was tiny so you'd be looking a suite if you wanted something decent. My parents went for this once but would rather go for the outside cabin and put the rest of the money towards another holiday.
Food is included, drinks aren't but are broadly in line with pub prices, from memory cocktails are around £7/8. You can buy a drinks package but that's £40 a day each.
They aren't that posh, I did a Caribbean cruise and was a bit taken aback by some of the people on board - I know that's incredibly judgemental, snobbish and wrong of me to think it, but I'd hazard a guess your wife may be with me on that one.
I did feel the holiday was good value for money, under £100 per night, but the shops do sell a selection of designer bags and clothes, not much and may or may not appeal to your wife.
The pool (on the Britannia at least) wasn't heated so not much fun until we hit sunnier climes it was also tiny, it can be choppy and you do feel it. I'm not sure I'd take children and mine are older than yours.
One advantage is that depending how far out to sea you go, you're reliant on the ships wifi which is poor, needs to be paid for and it'll cost a fortune for roaming (it'll go to maritime something or other) and calls are expensive.
All that said, I did enjoy it, and I'd jump at the chance for a trip on the Iona.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

I think you need to give yourself a few months substance free before booking expensive body scans etc. More likely to be you recovering from the way you have treated your body over recent years making you tired etc. You have always talked about a buzz but that is not normal. You need a period of living normally without the rubbish in your system to see whether there is something wrong or just withdrawal symptoms.
I would avoid the cruises at the moment. We have cruised many times with P and O and I know they do not intend to do international cruises for a while so are filling their ships up for domestic ports only. They will be looking to fill them to make the trips worthwhile so I daresay there will be a lot of discounts available but the premium cabins will be more expensive and no doubt the ships will be full. Much better to do a nice quality B and B or small hotel in my opinion but up to you. I agree that having things to look forward to is important. We have a family trip booked to Centre Parcs in June and a cottage holiday near London in August to visit relatives and a week further down in Cornwall in September probably to do some coastal hiking. Postponing our Canada trip in September though for another year. If you have a holiday budget and you get some quality family time then it is worth doing.

You don't need a body scan you need a steak or three 😀 and contrary to popular belief its much better for your health to have butter than margarine or low fat spreads as they cause inflammation in the body which results in blocked arteries, fat has a bad reputation but your body actually needs it and eaten in a moderate and healthy way it is good for you body, sugar is the one to watch 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203
