Yeah things are good just need an energy shot and a few more hours in the day ha.

All being well I should see a bit of profit (looking like 1 'free' unit and a bit towards another). Not turning out too bad right now but know how !!!!!! close it was. Won't be taking the same risk again mate can tell you that. Starting the refinance of the rest of the res portfolio get off the scutter rates ha.

Re mate yep still the same 'am I serious' and 'I won't be serious the minute the lockdown ends' same !!!!!! conversations over again but I suppose there's little else to think about when someone else takes care of your business, the ex has properly blocked you and all there is to do is have a !!!!!! in your childhood bedroom.

Still off the booze too yeah can’t believe it, never spent this long without a drink as an adult. Not really missing it too regularly. Planned to have a drink this weekend though could just fancy one now tbh but keep with the programme.

Your wife really must stop this dieting nonsense for her health and more to the point for yours and your sons. Your son needs good nutrition all the time not just when your wife doesnt want to take photos of herself.

That's a great outcome on the units!

Haha! Glad you are seeing how pathetic your mate's life is...who wouldn't love a free lunch and a massive one at that but in my experience it generally leads to someone throwing their life away if you don't have that drive to make more out of life rather than just squander money that was given to you on a plate.

Nice one re: booze. Eventually you'll feel ready for a drink again, no pressure but if you don't then great!

  • I don't think it's wrong to tell your wife that you prefer her carrying few extra kgs, if she can see and believe that you find her more attractive when she isn't at the lower end of her weight limits and she looks better without all the makeup then it will boost her self esteem and she may well be happier for it and help her get away from the IG stuff.
I'm a woman and I don't know how you go about doing that in a tactful way to help her best? My Husband and I are quite blunt with each other and I don't take offence if says I'm porky because it's true. But I'm clearly a very different person to your wife.

@ryanm8655 I've been very fortunate the market has remained buoyant through the whole covid saga mate. Looking to remain that way for a bit with the planned Rishi stimulus but not gonna lie I am concerned about where things will go in the res sector when (must be when rather than if) the interest rates start rising. Government 100 doing all they can to keep the sector strong. Interesting to see what they'll do with stamp duty sure the break will be extended as planned tomorrow but what'll happen long term is anyone's guess will wait and see. I reckon he's going to need to think about the second rung soon to free up some stock for the first rung. Already got a lot of potential interest from would be ftbs re the new scheme. Interesting times 100%.

Ha yeah seen some of the way he is for what it is. Spent many years beating myself up for not being able to compete and taking the 'banter'. I'm probably not going to get to his level tbt, not gonna lie admitting that makes me feel like a failure still but I am working on the reframing/ train my brain not to look at others who've been dealt a better hand and feel like !!!!!! about myself for not being on the same level. Couldn't listen to it for long today tbh final straw his 'got outbuildings bigger than my house' chat.

Felt like a drink tonight mate, wife ran me a bath instead. 😆 Not even going to pretend otherwise tbh I'm planning to share a decent bottle of red with the wife this weekend so in all likelihood will break the AF streak.

@ladyholly I know it's not good tbf just can't face an argument.

@annabanana82 she's off IG for the month, deleted the app but already asking me if it's 'cheating' if she looks at it on her computer FML. Know she's missing it hope she stays off tbh but still wants the photos for April when she's back on it 'in a sensible way'.

She has got a sense of humour tbf.

I am impressed with your alcohol free streak. This will be day 3 for us and I'm already looking forward to a drink on Friday night :D

Mind you work is not helping with that this week. Had a run of rubbish jobs so far this week. Hoping it settles down a bit for the rest of the week and I can get on with what I was supposed to be doing on Monday!

Your mate still seems to be trying to sabotage you. Obviously he has nothing else going on his life so goodness knows why you are trying to compare yourself to him on any level. A drug addict divorcee who has no contact with his kids, lives off his parents and is so bored his only means of entertainment is ringing you in the hope he can drag you back down to his level doesn't sound like someone to aspire to. I would be blocking him and telling him if it is connected to his portfolio he can talk to your employee who deals with it.

I have said before a limited diet is not good for any of you so suggesting to your wife she finds other recipes other than chicken salad would be a good idea but I get why you don't want the argument at the moment. I am not sure your wife can be sensible when it comes to social media. The social dilemma documentary pinpointed that the platform developers aim is to keep people addicted to it and she does seem to have an addictive and slightly obsessive personality.

  • Great going Alt, would second that some nice comments from you would boost your wife's self esteem. She sounds very insecure which is probably why IG has such a hold over here.

Had to laugh, what "mate" means is "my parents have outbuildings bigger than your house", bet he didn't say that did he!

He is the loser in this situation 100%.

In many ways you have to pity your "mate".  What a sad life he leads. No family, no meaningful activity just some drugs. I bet he doesn't have friends either. However don't get sucked back in because you feel sorry for him. You are seeing things much more clearly now and I think, beginning to enjoy your life and seeing how you can progress your business.
I do think you need to address the eating thing when you are strong enough. Print out some nutrition stuff from the Internet so your wife can see it in black and white and yes tell her you prefer her a bit heavier and without the make up. Flattery does work, you know most people like a bit of praise.
