No devices through the weekend  good one, it is surprising how much they invade our lives.

you are running out of things to give up, soon there will only be cars left.

Interesting that you are managing to fit your work life into sensible working hours that tells you quite a lot about how things were running before.

    40 days  👍

    Great to hear your update
Glad you're reaping the rewards of doing the hard yards
Your weekend sounds like a lifestyle ad, in the nicest possible way, attractive healthy couple doing wholesome things with gorgeous son and bouncy dog.
Hope you have a productive week too

Happy Monday all. Glad I’ve not become one of those people who like the weekends and dread the week ahead haha. Thanks all definitely had a good few weekends recently. Finding the planning/ filling my time more efficiently is giving me less time to dwell on the negative stuff generally. It’s still happening but managing to pull myself out of it before it starts becoming self destructive. Will see what happens when lockdown eases - not really looking forward to that tbh but a bit less anxious about it. Less anxious generally no doubt the stuff I was doing on a regular basis was contributing towards that. Few times I’ve been to various medical professionals asking to be medicated but seem to have largely sorted myself out. Same thing happened lockdown 1 hopefully will learn my lesson from that and not just go back this time.

@getmore4less haha that’s about the only thing I still don’t want to give up mate. Re working I’m actually doing a lot more fee earners past couple of weeks, things gone mad here will review next quarter as not sure whether a long term change or not. Trusting my staff a lot more, better this way they know their jobs don’t need me looking over every last thing when I’m !!!!!! up. Less paranoid one of them is out there to ruin my business. Had a lot of weird thoughts over the years about the intentions of others don’t know why tbh probably why someone says something probably intended as a joke or just some random comment and I go off on one lol def time to grow up a bit.

@warby68 FML ‘lifestyle ad’ haha. As for the other thing you mentioned, yeah def some element of control probably idk want to make sure what we do have is being used in the most efficient manner within reason. Not being paranoid saying my wife sees it as a target. She wanted to book a weekend break late May some country hotel. Not given that one up and I’m not getting angry about it but not a great use of money know that much. She just sees we’ve a budget for this stuff why not use it ha.

@Mrs_F_2017 Thank you, yeah really trying to turn things around tbh how I was living my life wasn’t very good for anyone seen it for what it was I think.

Re my wife I wouldn’t speak too soon didn’t spend anything but as said above back on the trips away lol. Apart from that she’s doing well deleted IG for March I couldn’t keep her phone much longer was getting seriously weird having that in my desk drawer all day everyday lol.

Some really positive posts - really good to read on a Monday morning!  Have you realised you are coming up next weekend to 6 months since you first joined these forums?  6th September it says. I remember you came looking for relatively minor financial tweaks to your life and really admire how you took on board what you got instead.  What a lot of big changes you have managed to make in that time and so many aspects of your life now on more positive trajectories.

I agree, so nice to hear such a positive post from you. Well done on the no phone weekend. Don’t think I could do that. I wouldn’t worry too much about weekend away in May, who knows how the lifting of lockdown is going to go. Tell wife you wouldn’t feel comfortable or able to relax unless both of you have had both sets of jabs, might buy you a bit of time. If your wife still insists shop around for the best deal and get it as cheaply as you can and the money has to be saved first and come out of holiday money. As a last resort tell her it’ll come out of her clothes/beauty budget.

@theoretica ha yes def didn’t get what I was looking for. 😆 Realised I needed to sort myself out though tbh might have just taken a lifetime but when I decide to do something and make a commitment I usually get on with it. Always going to have those regrets I didn’t do it earlier and the what ifs re personal life and where I’d be had I sorted myself out earlier too but that’s life really I suppose can’t live it always wondering had I got myself sorted at 30 if I’d be doing well now. Need to deal with what I have and keep moving forwards.

@Legs21 wife would 100 call BS if I said that re jabs some of the places I go no way am I at lesser risk going to a country hotel with the wife. Nice idea re budget but we’ve got the budget set out for the year, she knows this and I’ve been transparent about it. Working to a yearly budget is good for me, can forecast cash flow easier and I understand it a bit more than the other pots approach which I spent ages trying to reason with and got frustrated.

Not been too light on the (planned) business spends today ha but nothing spent personally. Finished work at 7pm, few of those nights this week (not complaining about too much work might be rich if it carries on like this haha). Literally nothing to do on personal spends sheet as I'm not spending anything lol, enjoy the novelty. Food shop tomorrow so will lose the spend free streak ha.

Absolutely whacked again at 8pm. Don't know what's wrong with me tbh not like I've got a physically hard job. Another AF day, so 41 in total.
