First Steps to Solvency

Don't even ask how I've got here but today is Day 40, didn't have a drink over the weekend to make a full calendar month alcohol free. Another £0 spend weekend 3 in a row haha. So another thing I didn't think would ever be achievable tbh. We are planning to have a drink next weekend so that sainthood streak will in all likelihood be broken then. The other won't though ha. Rugby wasn't the result we wanted lol but still enjoyed the match.
Thanks all for messages and sorry I haven't responded to messages we have had a 'no devices' weekend. Been really nice to not have phones etc with the constant notifications going off. First time I've switched my computer on this afternoon spent a little time getting next week in order for work and completing February's totals.Feb-21 Balance Barclaycard £ 6,150.00 M&S £ 1,105.00 Sainsburys £ 6,250.00 MBNA £ 10,750.00 £ 24,255.00 Overdraft £ 425.00 Total £ 24,680.00
Managed to throw an additional £1750 at the overdraft as this was the amount of underspend for this month. Looking forward to getting rid of it next month will feel like a bit of a fresh start tbh but it is at least 0% now for the entire month (figures are done for the coming month). Nice to see back under £25k though even if before didn't count the o/d lol.
Spent a fair bit of time sorting through some more of wife's clothing etc haul. About £4k worth she doesn't want and going to sell.

Wow, look at what you've achieved. 4k on clothing could be split as well. Some on debts and then maybe some on the family.
40 days is incredible too. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x3 -
I was a bit worried about you but obviously no need.
The weekend sounds great and the totals look on track again even with the overdraft.
40 days is so good.
Are you starting to feel better physically now? I hope so.3 -

Sounds like a good weekend with no alcohol, no spending and no devices. Who are you? £1750 underspend is awesome.

Thanks all.
Ha, funny people on here should wonder where I am, had an email from one of my staff Saturday morning, today had another two asking if I was OK - usually respond within an hour at the most. Was a bit of a spontaneous thing the no device weekend. Wife decided we'd have a no device Friday evening, she's very much off IG at the moment feels it's wrecked her life etc ha get that myself with other stuff, she's also massively fallen out with her nail tech mate who keeps messaging her so I think glad to not have the phone going off all the time. Glad she decided I should put my phone away too, just answered the landline. Probably not something we'll do every weekend but it's been good.
My mates not that there's that many lol are of the mindset time with family is lame apart from my mate with the MG who is very family orientated. Probably no surprise him and I are the only ones still married lol. Been amazing to see my son so happy even if my wife has spent a fair proportion of the weekend taking the !!!!!! I'm now in my 40s ever since it was announced I'm in the next priority group for the vaccine. Tbh we've all had an amazing weekend with no money spent and no substances someone told me I could have some of the best weekends completely stone cold sober, not even any caffeine haha and no money spent not a chance I would have believed them. Glad I've made some different choices. Actually not feeling as anxious about lockdown lifting. Wife said imagine all the places we can go with our son and dog. Also the tennis will be opening go we can go and play a few games of tennis over summer. Always made some excuse when she's wanted to join in the past but I'm quite looking forward to it now.
The in-laws know I want to spend time with my family at the weekend. We are going to be expected to turn up to a few of their BBQs in the summer which I'm dreading but going to have to deal with. They've already got the yearly family photo arranged - always stayed out of that tbh my own issues rather than theirs. Did turn up to one but couldn't go through with it wife likes hanging them up on the wall and I used to think when she divorced me she wouldn't want me ruining her family photos. In-laws just think I wanted to mess with them lol.
Feeling a lot better tbh mentally and physically. Back on the workout schedule, wife about killed me Saturday morning still got the DOMs now but no excuses come tomorrow FML.
Big week on the work front, got a lot to do - not just me everyone. Business looking good, feeling very fortunate about that especially as we're coming up to the one year anniversary of lockdown 1 things would have def been less rosy if BoJo hadn't decided to open the property market back up quickly so I do have some thanks for that and a lot of empathy for those in industries that have been very badly affected by this. Not working through the evenings and weekends I'm having to schedule my weekdays a lot better - more busy for me during office hours 100%. Work smarter I think that's what people say ha.5
