Another crazy day, started 7.45am, 10 mins eating lunch and just finished, I must be !!!!!! mad getting too old for it now I think ha. Not even caught up with budget yet, got the headlines days before though from what I can tell and bad news for corp tax which I was expecting. Probably won’t catch up until tomorrow need to just switch off for the night tbh. Been listening to a book on audible - might just go and lie down listen to that. Can’t even be bothered to eat going to need to have something. Not managed to have a look at / update anything on the personal finances side that’s going to be this weekend now I’ve got no other time. Rest of this week going to be similar to today, Friday probably in the office until 9/10pm. Next week same !!!!!! madness. Going to have to slow down week after haven’t got it anymore sadly.
Know what you all mean re mate. Hard not to envy the position in some ways - there’s a lot of money 100% but yeah little else.
BMW - it’ll be going. Car dealers opening next month to my knowledge.2 -
Managed to eat a bit of dinner, recover from the day a bit. Seriously thinking I probably need to spend out on getting another full body scan done health ins won’t cover speculative investigation. Been 100 productive during the days but absolutely whacked after work everyday. Used to maintain this pace day in day out for years late 20s/ early 30s and I’m not that old, should be able to keep pace really. Managed to read my son a story but that was it idk what’s wrong with me.
Couldn’t keep away from Rishi’s budget, spent about 30 mins reading. Going to book appointment with my accountant. I’d usually be punching walls and the like with the announcements today but managing to keep calm. Don’t feel so stressed generally got an odd feeling things are going to be ok don’t know why.
Not managed to do first look through my own budget yet but time for that this weekend - starting to track everything once a week. Wife spends on food etc during the week and doesn’t update me with every transaction made. She’s already got a meal plan for next week no chicken salad haha fully costed, actually quite impressed tbh looking like £65 food bill, she’s smashing that 100% for the coming week. Got no IG - time on her hands 100 lol.
Calling it an early night, go and get in bed listen to my audiobook until I fall to sleep. Getting a solid 6-6.5 hours every night recently so def an improvement there too.

What are you having for breakfast and lunch?
On the busy days may need to kick-start with a decent breakfast, "go to work on an egg" was big thing when people had more physical jobs.
Might also be worth some easy eat snacks like banana(self wrapped) that can be eaten on the go even when in grubby cellars.3 -
I would say the tiredness is normal, with working (and being very busy), family life and regular exercise. Plus your sleep is not great. I'm always tired every day and I'm similar age. I think the time of year doesn't help, once spring is in full flow, then I usually have more energy.
You are so out of tune with normal body patterns and have been used to having unnatural highs and energy, I think you just need to relax and give it time.Mortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years
Re-mortgage Oct 2017 - 78,295 over 23 years
Re-mortgage Jan 2020 - 55,000 over 26 years @ 1.94%
Current Mortgage Outstanding Middle December 2020 - £47893.35 - a reduction of £42,652 in just over 6 years!4 -
I agree with the two posts above. There is nothing wrong with you, you have just forgotten how your body should respond to a busy day at work and a busy lifestyle at home. It is perfectly normal to feel tired at the end of a day's work. Most weekday night's we are shattered and in bed by 9.30pm.
You just need to learn how to chill out and relax and accept when your body is telling you it is tired.
It is great to see changes in the wife as well. She seems to be more onboard now. Hopefully this signals a more permanent change for her as well.2 -
Are you getting enough iron in your diet? You could be anaemic which a simple blood test could confirm. I would say though that tiredness especially at the moment is normal often down to stress and full time working with a young child.
Well done to your wife for doing a meal plan with no chicken salad and £65 is awesome. Make sure you tell her how much you appreciate her when she is making an effort especially keeping off the IG. A simple thank you makes a difference between you.
We went to bed at 9.0pm last night as so tired 💤 although we did have our first Covid Jab Tuesday so that could be side effect 🤣I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Make sure you eat properly including lunch even if it is something at your desk. I wonder if you are anaemic or whether, as has been said, your tiredness is just the tiredness most people feel after a day at work.

Its normal to be tired after a full working day and a bit of family time . When ours were young and we were both working long days we could happily follow the toddlers to bed on a few nights a week. Don't forget you are achieving more in fewer working hours now you're working smarter rather than just being in front of an open computer for 16h a day on stimulants.
Check out the obvious things such as eating properly or maybe ask for some simple blood tests more to reassure you than anything else before rushing for a full body scan - I think that's your 'extreme' demon talking and not knowing what normal actually feels like. Medics usually start with the simpler tests anyway.
It wouldn't surprise me if your body is having to recover from addiction in the same way as recovering from a serious physical illness - it can take time.
Please keep resisting the chicken salad weeks, especially on behalf of your son.

Didn’t get to sleep until way past 1am last night. Don’t even know why just stupidly tired but couldn’t nod off. Can’t do the whole early to bed thing I just lie there not sleeping. Listened to a fair amount of the book - Shoe Dog it’s about the founder of Nike. Def worth a read/ listen if your feeling lazy like I am.The work is crazy not going to complain about that secretary doing her usual mum act need to slow down. 😆 100 I’d be back on whatever if I thought I could keep this pace up forever. Know nothing helps though just need to keep it up until either the work slows or proves sustainable enough for recruitment. Not going to be turning it away again to coast.Actually regularly have a boiled egg and a slice of toast for breakfast. Lunch I have whatever I pick up. Do snack on fruit though not on the job lol. Wife off cutting next week as she’s got to her goal thank god. I’ve told her she’s doing well with the food actually planned to use everything she buys too.
Not so good she’s on the holidays / breaks worked out we can do the one night for our wedding anniversary, trip to Greece staying with parents and now wants to do some uk cruise that’s been announced by P&O reckons if it’s 3/4 nights will be within budget and leave the family days money free for family days. Tbh I feel ill just thinking about it - all the allocated money used.Still considering using my own allowance for the body scan but would rather pay it off my debt. Don’t want the health anxiety getting to a bad level again and hopefully if I have the scan will stop thinking about it for a bit. Have spoken to my GP who won’t refer me and thinks the tiredness is normal too.4 -

Listen to your GP. They know what they are talking about.1
