It seems pretty solid they want you to go in with proof from this link:

normally yes - im just wondering if chances are it will be OK if others have applied and not had to go into branch? (or if there is an electronic means of doing it)0

i phoned them up - they said it will attempt to do online checks, or you can upload stuff online and only if they need more info do you need to come into branch - a bit contradictory to the wording but i'll give it a go and see what happens...0

Nothing to worry about (tho they need to correct their wording on the site!) applied, account active and switch registered within 10 mins
next one is RBS...

It seems pretty solid they want you to go in with proof from this link:I have just opened a Lloyds account and it was approved in seconds without proof of identity and Mrs billn did the same, the only accounts that required an ID check was RBS and this was done online.
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving is not for you!1 -

Just received a text now saying my switch can't be progressed and to phone the Lloyd's Bank switching team.
Phoned the number and it asks me whether I am a Halifax customer (press 1) or Bank of Scotland customer (press 2). And that's it!
I am a bit stumped. The Santander account is dormant, so I have to take ID into branch to revive the account before it can be switched.

Well, I'd misunderstood the situation with the switch to Santander, I thought it was on hold while I sorted out the dormancy, but it was actually cancelled completely.I'm now switching one of my TSB accounts instead.Eco Miser

Soon we'll all have lots of TSBs as donors/switches. Got x12 to fiddle with shortly2
