"surely there's no need to get a journo to do it, the people on here could do it"

Just a quick one on this. The person doing it when i say journo would be a professional editor, in other words they compile books for a living, the info and thoughts would be right here off this board, purely the formating and 'book-ifying' would come from someone else - and i will keep a final editorial say (apart from publisher) ontop of that :)

If I make a plea for an odd blank page do I sound daft? :D Trouble is, in my favourite books I have all bits of paper in between the pages with notes on - you know the ones that say, 'needs an extra five minutes in the oven', 'also works well with lamb', 'add lavender essential oil for better smell' etc etc :D:D

That is a fantastic idea, would save the book looking like a waste paper file on the shelf:T

I like the idea of blank pages too AND it's old style :D I've inherited a couple of really old recipe books and they have a couple of pages at the end of each chapter that says 'this page has been left blank for you to add your own recipes'.

And every blank page should have the URL for Old Style at the bottom :)

Definitely a good idea! And even those of us who are not going to get on the front cover (whether by fair means or otherwise...) can happily claim to have some connection with the book!!!

OK folks, you're not going to like this. I need to let you know publishing time scales - i hope this book will go ahead, if it does the likely publication date is between march and august 2006!
