Brilliant idea! Get the TV series rites as well. Surely no need to get a journalist to do it - loads of peeps on here are more than capable.
Trouble is. . . I'm old but haven't got the style:D0 -

What a great idea!!!
Although I've seen Martin on a number of TV programmes I only came across this site becasue Martin was on a Radio 4 programme offering advice regarding listener's debt problems.
I've since recommended to a couple of friends, who putting it politely, are gobsmacked at the savings I've made in that short space of time.2014 Target;

Yes!
If I make a plea for an odd blank page do I sound daft?Trouble is, in my favourite books I have all bits of paper in between the pages with notes on - you know the ones that say, 'needs an extra five minutes in the oven', 'also works well with lamb', 'add lavender essential oil for better smell' etc etc

Well martin Martin .......... :rolleyes:
I have three book in my bookcase that are 'not a patch on old style' but that are similar in the fact that they are books of homely tips. I have The Vinegar Book, The Really Useful Home Book and Trade Secrets (based on the BBC series).
I don't know how you're planning to lay out your book but it may be worth a glance at the Trade Secrets one. It's tips from tradespeople and is written just like this forum. ie: under the heading 'GREENGROCERS' it has a list of tips like 'shake Cox's apples, if you hear the pips rattle, they're ripe' and 'bounce your cranberries, if they bounce they're fresh'.
It's easy to read and easy to find the info you require.
I'm not suggesting for a minute that you copy that layout, I'm just suggesting that you look at it as it seems a similar idea to what you're thinking about. Of course the crucial difference is that there is no emphasis on moneysaving in this book which is the whole point of yours.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
d'oh! Theres my book writing plan out of the window;)
Great idea for the book Martin, and excellent idea for the kids' charity - they need something because not all kids are lucky enough to have moneysaving parents!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

What a great idea! The book because it means that this knowledge is available to more of the next generation who may not have moneysaving people in their lives and the charity because it needs (desperately) to be done. I know of several teenagers in huge amounts of debt with no hope of repaying it all, being moneywise should be taught to children as early as possible.Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
