TSB launches new 'Spend and Save' current account

You have to request it here https://www.tsb.co.uk/help-and-support/general/change-your-account/Markyboy112 said:Are the classic plus accounts suppose to change to spend and save accounts?
I log into online banking and the account is still showing as a classic plus.
It took them 5 days to change mine, but they say up to 14 days.
As far as I can tell the first 6 months counts from when it's converted but I don't know if the 30 transactions have to be made after it's converted.
What you don't want to do is find it's converted on the last day of the month as transactions take a couple of days to clear (it seems it's the date they clear that is important).0 -
£5 credited today to all new Spend and Save accounts plus converted Classic Plus account

Will anybody who tries his/her luck in the 7th month (remember the £5 for 30 tranx is for 6 months only) please report if it works/ed?0

I'm in two minds as to whether I should close my accounts and wait for a decent cashback offer to rejoin, or if I should just upgrade to Plus.0

Yes, today I got the £50 from quidco for opening a Spend and Save.
Next month will be my 7th month with one of my Spend and Saves.

Who in their right mind is going to try 30 transactions knowing that they should not be eligible for the £5 cashback? If you give me the £5 I'll try it

Well, there are often glitches, etc in systems.crumpet_man said:Who in their right mind is going to try 30 transactions knowing that they should not be eligible for the £5 cashback? If you give me the £5 I'll try it
For example, RBS/Natwest gives switch incentives occasionally even if you've got accounts with them
I may give it a go next month ( takes about 10 min , paying to a credit card with details pre-populated) and if so will report back0 -
How can making 30 payments from a tsb debit card to a credit card take 10 mins online ?
If you attempted to make 30 £1 payments or a similar smaller amount from a debit card to a credit card online the debit card would lock up wouldnt it ?
Fixed the typo now

Why would it lock up / get blocked? It might ask you for a confirmation code after 20 or so consecutive transactions in a short space of time, that's all. However, either the sending or the receiving party, or both, might not play the game for very long. KRBS is an example of a Building Society who has stopped online debit card deposits after a series of £10 deposits were made in quick succession by several people. Credit card companies might be more forgiving but then they might not.TOP_CAT said:
