Thanks all. We always love York.

It's been a rainy start to the day which hasn't helped. The dog has been overly excited and a nuisance. He will be a pain at work today. I can already tell.

We had the van loaded up last night so we only needed to do the vehicle shuffle this morning to get it out, get my car in it's place and the white one back in the drive. Still seemed to take an age in the rain though. Hopefully it calms down before this evening.

Just got to get work out of the way today and then I'm walking down to meet the other half. I should be there just as he finishes then we set off. Should be parked up on the campsite by 7pm I should think. Then it will be a quick shower, stick the pie and jacket potato in the oven and head to the nearest pub for a couple of beers. A quiet night tonight.

Almost forgot. First payment to the loan made today as well.

We had an absolute nightmare journey ro York yesterday. We set off from Sheffield at 5pm and got to the site just on time at 7.55pm. Last admission to the site is 8pm!

The motorway was closed for a good hour due to a car that had rolled over. The other half took advantage of the situation to have a shave and a shower on the M1 🤣🤣🤣

Still we made it and after dumping the van on the last remaining pitch we went out for a few beers while dinner cooked.

We were in bed quite early by 10pm ready for a busy day today.

We took the dog out for a morning walk before the rain started. It was quite peaceful before the crowds arrive.

We have just had breakfast, a full English to soak up some drink. Time to get showered and changed and then we will head into town.

We had a great time yesterday. Much laughter and fun had by all.

Today we have had a much quieter day. Lots of walking for a little dog, some lovely lunch in the street food Market, a couple of drinks and now back on the van to chill put before the rain arrives.

We have roast beef for dinner shortly.

Had to smile at the shave and a shower on the M1 haha.

We haven’t been to York for quite some time, despite the sun not coming out for your photos you’ve got me wondering about booking a weekend trip as we do love York. Could really do without the spends though tbf.

Sadly we have had to come home today. We have had a great weekend away. Definitely the right idea to have an extra day off work!

This morning we had a walk around town while it was quiet. Great time to see the city before it got busy again.

Then it was back to the van for coffee and eggy bread before heading to the designer outlet. Wrong time of year for that, no great bargains to be had so not much money spent!

So the run home, van put away, weekly shop done and then off to the local pub for a couple of beers. Now back home. Lasagne made for later, a few cheeky Monday beers then time to get ready for work tomorrow 😥

Not long before our first proper holiday of the year now.
