Last working day of the week and I will be glad when this ones over. It has been an absolute nightmare so far!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is salmon wellington and veggies.

No jobs to do tonight. We are getting home, getting showered and heading off out for the weekend.

No premium bonds win again but I have managed to lock myself out of my account this morning so I now need to wait for a password reset to come through the post before I can reset the password!

After a long while of deliberating if we need a second car or not we might have had our mind made up for us.

A local dealership down the road has a load of pre registered Fiat 500's for sale for an absolute bargain price (12k against a list price of 18k), so we are going to go and have a look on Monday when we get home.

I have already sorted out a personal loan if we decide we like them I just need to activate the account to release the funds next week. If not I just leave it and the offer expires. So we won't be needing expensive dealer finance.

The plan is if we do leave a deposit on one to pay off the credit card from our savings and then the repayments on the car will be pretty much the same as the credit card repayments were for the next 3 years.

This should hopefully leave us with a new car that should be reliable and cheap to run when we need it. It won't do lots of miles, it is just an emergency car so it doesn't matter that it is small, very small!!

If it is only for emergencies, would it be more cost effective not to buy but to hire one or get taxis as and when needed.

We have been doing that for the last few years and it had been a right pain at times. We have relied on hire cars, other people's spare cars, works loan cars but they are not always available.

We live in a small town so getting taxis isn't always the simple task it should be and public transport is hopeless.

Ideally we would manage with just the one car but it just isn't possible all the time for us and living 25 miles from work we need a second option at the drop of a hat.

We enjoyed a fantastic day out in Lincoln yesterday. Suffering a bit for it this morning though!

A quieter day in store today. We are going to explore the country park where we are staying.

So we went to see the little Fiat today and took it for a test drive. It had 7 miles on it when we picked it up but 18 when we dropped it back off again 🙈

It was much better than we expected so we have left a deposit and we pick it up on Saturday after its had its pre delivery inspection and valet.

The dog was chief negotiator and he got us a discount on the already heavily discounted price so we have all walked away happy with the deal.

Can honestly say we have never had customer service as good as we have had from these guys so far. They have been brilliant and we have come away with a deal we are all happy with.
