I went back to work yesterday but have been WFH so not too bad. Not looking forward to going into the office on Monday.

    Enjoy your last day off.

We have started today with the heart breaking news that a dear friend suddenly passed away while away in their van with his wife and dog on 2nd January. Completely out of the blue and Completely unexpected.

He will be sorely missed by many. He was a true gentleman and loved by all. We feel so sorry for his wife and his beloved dog.

Not the best start to the year 😢

We don't have a great deal planned for today. We need to visit the farm shop and get some chicken. But other than that it will be a quiet one. We might have a walk to the local pub this afternoon.

Doing a turkey curry this evening. Get some of the Christmas turkey used up!

It is indeed. So very unexpected.

His wife is still down south on the van. The campsite are being very good and understanding.

She never drove the van. The other half is going to message her and ask if she wants him to bring it back home for her. Not sure she will want it on the drive as a reminder though 😕

Very sorry to hear your sad news. A kind thought of your other half to offer to collect the van. She must be completely overwhelmed at present.

Understandably she doesn't know what she wants to do yet. Including about getting home.

We have offered that the van can stay on our drive here with ours if she doesn't want it on hers for a while. It will be a squeeze with ours in the drive as well and will mean we have to park the car on the road but it's manageable and gives her time to decide what she wants to do. We can work around it.

So sorry to hear the news about your friend, such a shock to you all. Kind of you to offer your drive to store their motorhome when she comes home as it will be a reminder. It brings it home to go out and enjoy life as you don’t know what’s around the corner.xx

It's been a funny day today not helped by the snow🙄

We paid a visit to the other half's step father in the care home he has been moved too today. He has been in hospital for a fair while and has been touch and go for a couple of weeks so it was nice to see him feeling a bit better and looking more settled. Not sure what the next move is though. He only has 8 weeks rehabilitation where he currently is.

The drive into the city was mixed. The main roads were fine but we had to abandon the car a half mile from the home and walk the rest of the way.

The dog was a good boy. He hates being left on his own and he had a good few hours alone with no damage to the house. We found him sat on the sofa watching TV when we got back so he was obviously settled in.

We had a drive out to his favourite pub when we got back for a couple of beers. He gets spoiled in there. The staff love him 😀

Now back home. Just prepped a roast chicken dinner for later and now enjoying the last afternoon before work tomorrow. That's two weeks has flown by!
