We just watched Gavin and Stacey. I thought it was perfect.

You'll be hard pushed to miss the spoilers if you're still saving it as they are splashed all over the place. I don't think I've ever seen so much coverage for a TV show.

We watched it as soon as we got back from the coast and had some lunch.

I loved it. The other half didn't think it was as good as it used to be.

We are off out in the van today and for the rest of this year. 😀

Going into the city today to join some friends in a pub lunch and a walk around a few nice pubs. Not seen them for a while so it will be nice to catch up before the years out.

Mind you we have to peel ourselves out of bed first!

Will get up in a minute and walk the dog. He is being suspiciously quiet for this time in the morning. He must be tired.

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast this morning. Nothing too heavy if we are going out at dinnertime.

Need to get the van packed up for five nights out. It's plugged in so the fridge is cold and battery charged. Sure we will forget something. Mind you at least the shops are open so we can pick up anything we do forget.

Last nights catch up was brilliant. Good food and good company.

Today we have a family party to attend at the other side of the city. So it's pointless going home again. We will visit some of our old haunts I think and do some walking with the dog.

It was another busy action packed day yesterday. We even managed to smuggle the dog into the party venue after he had a couple of hours on his own in the van. We'll I say smuggle, they have police dogs in the venue all the time so they didn't mind him going in. He was amazed to see everyone he knows in the same place at the same time 🤣🤣🤣

No chance of a lie in here. The police dogs live here (the ones that don't live with their handlers) so they have been barking and about half an hour ago two coaches turned up to pick up football fans and are sat with their engines idling. 🙄

We have a quieter day instore today and are heading out into the Peak District.I think we will all appreciate that 😀

Coffee and breakfast first. Cheese on toast this morning. A good walk to clear our heads and make sure we are legal to drive before we head off. Think I am making hunters chicken later.

We were supposed to be at Castleton yesterday but when we got there it was packed. Far too busy for our liking. We did get parked up but decided to move on. We ended up at Cromford instead and got the bargain £1.20 return train to Matlock Bath instead.

We had a great day and a lovely quiet evening.

Today we had time to kill so we had a nice wander around Cromford and along the canal.

The other half nipped into the Cheese Shop at Cromford for some blue cheese to go with tomorrow's dinner and came our with chilli and chocolate cheese which I was initially suspicious of. Oh my lord. On a digestive biscuit it is like amazing cheese cake. We must get some more 😍

We arrived at Chatsworth at about 1.30pm, got the van tanks dealt with, picked a pitch then had the walk to Baslow for a few beers. The weather doesn't look great for tomorrow so it was our best pub chance 🙄

The dog loved the walk in the grounds

Back on the van now. Salmon Wellington for dinner later.

We need to have one eye on the weather tomorrow .  Our long walk needs to be in the morning before the heavy rain arrives!

Great photos as always. I would be suspicious of chilli and chocolate cheese too 😆 It’s weird how unexpected flavours work. Enjoy your stay.

It's been money shuffle day today. £200 to the savings account plus a £200 underspend for the month, £100 to the Premium bonds and £100 to the ISA.

We have had a brilliant day at Chatsworth today. Lots of walking, a visit to the house and gift shop and then an unexpected walk to the village for a few beers. Just got back to the van before the rain starts.

It's very blustery and the sky has gone dark. Won't be long before we get the rain I don't think.

We will be having drinks on the van and a steak dinner tonight. Very much doubt we will see the new year in 🤣🤣🤣

Happy new years to you all.
