Happy New Year to you all.

As predicted we didn't make it to midnight we had an early night. It was so quiet here other than the rain on the roof. No fireworks which was great for the dog. Might try and book on here again  for next year.

Not much planned for today. We are waiting for the rain to stop before we head home. Will have a bacon sandwich before we set off.

Doing a roast lamb dinner tonight. Looking forward to that.

We have had a great few days away but sadly the other half is back at work tomorrow so we have to head home today.

Did you stay in the grounds of Chatsworth? We keep saying we’ll try the big pub right near there. We’ve been and sussed it out and it looks ok.
You’ve had an amazing time by the look of your photos.

Yes we stayed on the CAMC site which is in Chatsworth Estate. It's got a great little door in the wall at the back which spits you put right in the park about a 15 minute walk from the house.

It's an expensive site. We were a bit shocked at the price, over £50 a night but we are thinking about going again for next new years.

It was so quiet overnight. No fireworks so the dog was happy and an easy walk to Chatsworth house or the other way to Baslow and the pubs.

We went in the big pub. It's nice but very expensive. It was silly busy and we had a table so we didn't try the other two pubs in the village.

We passed the gate to the campsite on our way to the big pub during the summer months. Nice to hear it’s a good site…it’s probably worth the money for a NewYear treat. We keep promising to go for a few days as I love that area and it’s easy enough for ds to visit as it’s just over an hour from home. I’d love to go around the hall when it’s decorated for Christmas.

The other half is back at work today so me and the dog are home alone.

We have spent the morning so far taking down the Christmas decorations inside and out. Other half just needs to put the tree in the loft when he gets home.

I have also cleaned out the van. It was filthy. Just got the bedding to wash and put back on this afternoon when it is dry. Got a load of towels in at the minute. Then need to wash the van mats as well.

Not much else going on today. Have been out a couple of times with the dog. He's grumpy because his dad has left him at home with me 🙄

Going to rustle up a Shepherds pie with the leftover lamb from yesterday's roast dinner for dinner tonight.

I’m making a chicken, gammon and mushroom pie. Must be the day for using leftovers.

I think we are finally getting down the Christmas leftovers.

Still got loads of turkey in the freezer but that will get used up and some cheese has gone in the freezer.

    But we are getting there.

I'm going to say the same as I did last year. I'm not going to buy as much for next Christmas 🤣🤣🤣

The other half was not impressed with being bundled off to work in the cold this morning. The dog on the other hand enjoyed his walk on the crispy crunchy grass.

I'm having a much quieter day today. Just got the bathrooms to clean and the kitchen and have a home shop coming between 8am and 10am. That's it for today other than walking the dog.

Going to enjoy my last day off work in peace 😀

Doing a lazy dinner later as well. Southern fried chicken, chips and coleslaw.
