It was a bit chilly this morning walking the dog, it felt almost autumnal in the air.

£98 paid to the energy account this morning. After this months bill we should be just under 3 months in credit ready for the colder winter months. We seem to have built the credit up earlier than usual this year which does tally with my thoughts that we were paying a bit too much per month. Not overly bothered though. It means we have plenty spare if we do get a colder winter.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner today are from stores. It was toast for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is spag bol and garlic bread.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • vacuuming the house
A busier night after work tonight but it means we can have a relaxing night in front of the TV tomorrow night.

I think you've done really well to lose 25lbs since Christmas. You haven't starved yourself either so shows it can be done slow but steady.

You’ve done really well mate. Final push, then you can ease off a bit to maintain- just keep an eye on it.

Thought of you this morning when I saw the Bassetlaw talk the residents association in my estate is putting on. How Bassetlaw relates to here idk, ha.

It's more frustration than anything. To have got so far and now be stuck on the final six pounds.

I will keep at it. Sure it will drop off eventually.

It's Friday and I don't want to jinx it but I think I have set myself up for a steady day at work to end the working week.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is southern fried chicken with chips and coleslaw, fakeaway Friday. (We looked at how much it would be to have a KFC delivered instead tonight and it was a stupid amount of money, I don't know how these places are still open!!

No jobs to do tonight other than the evening dog walk. It's a night on the sofa with a film and a few beers tonight.

    Ha who knows lol.

I do find a quiet Friday sets up for the weekend ahead.

A lot of these takeaway places are now extortionately expensive imo, all seemed to have obscene levels of price rises post Covid. Your own southern fried chicken will be better than kfc anyway, there’s something about their meat I’m not sure is quite right, probably because the chickens are basically caged for life and just made to eat and do little else.

It's going to be an expensive day today!

We have been to the farm shop and picked up a half sheep to restock the freezer for winter and there is a guy here now remapping the van and the car. So spends all round today 🙄

Going to take the car out for a run this afternoon when the chap has finished with it. Think we will head out to Matlock Bath for fish and chips.

The dog is shattered. He has been out for three walks already to try and keep him out of the way of the lads on the drive. Sure he will wake up when he sees the fish at Matlock 🤣🤣🤣

Going to stick a curry in the slow cooker for later. Chicken saag masala tonight with pilau rice and vegetable samosa.

It's been a busy day today.

We were up and about early and had breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast before taking the dog for a walk.

The first load of washing was on the line for 7.30am and then the second load of bedding and towels was on a wash and dry for 8am.

We had a run out to Cromwell Lock in the car a place we went through so many times on the boat. Was nice to catch up with the lock keeper and chat about old times 😀

Then we had a run into Newark, had a nosey around the motorhome dealers and then into town for a wander around and a couple of drinks in the barge.

Love Newark from our visits on the boat.

Now back home. The dog is shattered and asleep. Dinner is prepared and we are enjoying a few beers in the garden while the sun is shining.

Pulled pork tonight in Yorkshire pudding with mustard mash and greens.

It's been a nice weekend at home again. Looking forward to heading out in the van next weekend to try out the remap on the motorway. If the car is anything to go by we won't be disappointed.
