The savings are looking good too. I assume you will be looking for a BT in June/July? The card should be below £7k then.
Yes we will be looking to balance transfer towards the end of June. Will be hoping to transfer and have it paid off in about 18 months after the transfer which will be a little before our planned target date of May 2026 when we remortgage the house.

Then it is project pay off the mortgage. We are hoping to remortgage with a 5 year term on a 5 year fix next time round. It should be feasible. We would be paying less then we are paying now with mortgage overpayments and card repayments.

So I guess FIRE is your eventual aim then?

Another day at work and it is forecast to be another stormy one. We got a message from the campsite last night to say that all bookings for Monday to Thursday had been cancelled and would be refunded. We are hopeful that they can reopen as expected on Friday. Cutting it fine though, we have been looking for alternatives!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner today are from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work, salad box for me again and dinner tonight is salmon with egg noodles and stir fried vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • watering the house plants

    Finances all looking good.

Fingers crossed you still get to York but I'm sure you'll find a nice alternative closer to home should it not come off.

We will still be in the York area. We are meeting up with a couple of sets of friends so we will still go. Got a few other alternatives, they just involve a bus or a taxi ride into York instead of a 5 minute walk. So all is not lost.

We were going to go to York for the day on Sunday but have put it off as there is some sort of light festival next month so we are going for the day then instead.
    Have a lovely time.

We have a Plan B sorted out. The Campra aire at the York Auction Market. Its cheap at £12 a night including water and waste water disposal.

Does mean we need to get a bus into York and probably a taxi back though.

Looks increasingly unlikely we will be staying at Plan A now ☹️
