We do love a haggis. Unfortunately not a proper one this year. We have not been north of the border to get any for a while. Will have to get some when we are up that way in March.
Just had confirmation that the campsite is definitely going to be shut over the weekend so it is Plan B the auction market parking and a bus into York. A shame but can't be helped. We will be refunded for the campsite once their systems are back up and running, they have been having IT problems all week.
On the plus side the auction market is a lot cheaper and the bus won't be expensive,0 -
We stayed at a pub near York. A good walk or bus ride in. The pub only asked that you frequented the establishment. When we were there they didn’t have a kitchen but there was a great pizza place on the next corner that delivered. It was a great place with doggie treats - so welcoming. I can’t remember what it was called though but Dh will.January spends - £587.581

We are going to try the auction market this time. It gets good reviews so will give it a go and it's cheap enough even with the bus fare taken into account.0 -
I guess the bus fare will be the standard £2 for a single journey , so may be a good plan B . Have a good weekend in a lovely place.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1

Relieved Sheff - just asked Dh and the pub we stayed at in York was The Hogsheads, Huntington YO32 9 PX. Might come in useful in the future 👍
it looks as if they might have opened the restaurant now…they were talking about it last year when we were there.January spends - £587.581 -

Just got the van sorted and headed off for breakfast.
We are having a trip to the designer outlet on the way to York see what bargains we can find 😀0 -
Was just watching about York on the One Show. That is some serious flooding, sadly it seems not a lot can be done to prevent it, due to the amount of water goes into the river. Enjoy your weekend away.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

We had a fab day in York yesterday. Just recovering now and making plans for today. We are going to grab a bite to eat in York. Don't feel up to cooking this morning 😄
The stopover at York Auction Market is brilliant. We will definitely come back.

We had a much steadier day yesterday mooching around York. We racked up 20k steps by the time we got back to the van. The dog was shattered.
We were all shattered and in bed for 8pm after and easy dinner of chicken thighs and jacket potato!
Not too much planned for today. We need to get home and put the van away ready for its hab check next Friday.
Other than that it will be a lazy Sunday. Roast lamb and veggies for dinner later.1
