🤣 It’s not somewhere I go regularly but sorry mate, Worksop 100 has a reputation for being rough and smackheads. Agreed re investment should mean it will hopefully get better and def no worse than Sheffield. We’re a cut above in Nottingham though ha.

Tbf parts of Nottingham are dog rough, didn’t get the Shottingham moniker for nothing. Years ago not even kidding I had my wheels nicked off my E36 M3 on the Broxtowe estate will add I was there for work and not recreational purposes lol.

When we moved into our last house in Sheffield we borrowed the other half's bosses pick up truck to move with. Parked it outside the house for the night, woke up the next morning and it had been nicked 🤣🤣🤣

We laugh about it now but it wasn't funny at the time. We had to ring his boss up to get the reg number so we could report it to the police!

It was found in a park not far from where we lived. To recover it and the other stolen car found with it, they had to dismantle a retaining wall. It was quite an insurance claim 😕

🤣🤣🤣 plenty I look back at and laugh about but seemed serious at the time too.

Also know what you mean about moving away from a city area too. Every now and again I think about moving somewhere a bit quieter too tbh. Wife has similar thoughts. No plans next 5 years though and can’t find a house of this quality easily - lot of farm type places. Also think we’d miss not being able to walk into town etc but also a lot less temptation on every front ha. Any regrets from your move?

No regrets at all. Its been a great move for us. Wouldn't suit everyone but we love it.

We can walk into town from here and we have done but it's a good 45 minute walk.

We have got the train into Sheffield for a night out. Again it's about a 45 minute walk to the station and then 20 minutes on the train.

We have 3 pubs (remember them?) within a 10-15 minute walk of here and the local shop is about a 10 minute walk away. The bigger supermarkets are all a drive away but we are well served and the big four all have big stores here.

It is a lot quieter on the estate than we are used too, but we like that. Seemed odd at first but we have grown to appreciate it. Think we are finally growing up 🤣🤣🤣

That sounds perfect to me. I love the country. I live close to the village railway station and we’re not that far from the motorway. Lovely walks around here, one major difference I noticed when I moved here from a town, was that everyone says hello to each other. Lovely community spirit.x

Well I think that sounds perfect RelievedSheff, what more could you ask for. We used to live on a main road then when we moved to here I couldn’t sleep at first because it was too quiet at night 😆 Soon got used to it. I also live about a 45 minute walk to town but have 2 fairly decent high streets not too far away with plenty of pubs/restaurants within a short distance. You don’t live too far from my DS, when we go to his we get the Worksop train.

Haha 😆 Don’t need reminding of the pubs I’m on the dry jan lol.

We’re really quite lucky, live in a great part of the city - wouldn’t know you were so close to town if you walked down my/ surrounding streets tbh it’s quiet. Been lucky to live in the surrounding area for years and years now - my view of NG would be very different had I endured living in the rougher parts tbh ha.

I think I’m mainly just concerned everything will open in April or whenever and I’ll go mad with spending and nights out. Mentioned it to wife, she doesn’t think I will go mad. Over half of me doesn’t want to move really but still have ambitions for 7 figure place FML wish I didn’t tbh as shouldn’t just be dealing on something due to market value I do know that now.

Back to the grindstone today. The first day back at work after the Christmas break. We both had a shocking night's sleep as well which is unlike us. Both of us have been grumpy this morning.

Not a no spends day as we have an Asda delivery coming this morning. £150 has been paid off Card 5, £16.82 has been paid off the furniture loan and £50 to the ISA this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I'm having pizza for my lunch and dinner tonight is smoked haddock and leek bake with vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • sorting and putting away the home shopping delivery
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • watering the house plants
    • walking the dog x 2
