There were a fair few fireworks last night. We managed to get him fairly settled by putting on his pyjamas and turning up the TV. He got snuggled up in his bed under the coffee table eventually and went to sleep.
Going to try the same again later but give him a big bowl of pasta before hand. The carbs will send him to sleep. It was hig groomer that gave us this tip and it really does seemto work.1 -
We managed to keep the dog quite calm last night.
He must have enjoyed the trio of Tom Cruise films 🤣🤣🤣
Today with the weather forecast set a bit better we are going to pull the van out and give it agood scrub. It needs it, it is filthy. Not out in it for a couple of weeks but taking advantage of the drier weather today.
We will walk the dog and have breakfast first though. Full English again I think and we have roast pork and all the trimmings later on for dinner.
Not much else planned for today. Might break the Monopoly board out.0 -

Mot much on today other than trying to keep the dog calm later on. We need to pick up the sheep we ordered from the farm shop this morning, getting stocked up for Christmas now. The turkey and gammon are already in the freezer as is the manglatisa pork bacon and sausage.
Breakfast this morning is a full English and dinner later is a slow cooked ox tail curry with rice, sides and poppadoms and pickle tray.
Will walk the dog before it gets dark. He won't go out once the fireworks start so one of us will be up in the night to let him out into the garden.
We are watching back to back Top Gun later. Will turn that up loud to drown out the fireworks.Sealed pot challenge 822

Back to work today and hopefully the end of the fireworks for the dog. To be fair the fireworks were really not that bad this year and on the whole the dog managed a lot better than in previous years. He was a bit upset last night because we went to bed early and he could hear them. But he got snuggled up between us on the bed and fell asleep. Not sure what time he got in his own bed but he was in there this morning.
£300 sent to the credit card this morning.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores tonight. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pork enchiladas made with the leftovers from last nights roast pork dinner.
Tonight's jobs are:- walking the dog
- weekly shop
- I should really put the clean bedding back on the van as well but that might wait until the weekend.

You've made such a difference in just a few years - just goes to show what a bit of focus and determination can do when it's not the income side of things that is the issue, isn't it!
The fireworks round us were just ridiculous this year - I really do think it's about time that something was done to restrict what can be bought for home use. Mum's dog seems to get more and more anxious every year - it's so hard on Mum too as she worries seeing the dog so terrified. We had some local to us yesterday evening that literally sounded like some sort of gun battle going on!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
