@RelievedSheff - I know you use BritStops but are you aware that they are doing a Black Friday deal of 25% off at the moment - just use the code HOLIDAY25 at checkout.

    Hadn't seen this thank you.

We didn't renew our membership last year. Most places let you stay anyway without the book.

Might get it with that discount.

We have friends over to stay tonight. Expect it will be a day of chatting and catching up over plenty of drinks.

This morning before they arrive we need to walk the dog and do a few bits of shopping. Need to pick up some sides to go with tonight's curry.

Breakfast this morning is going to be a full English and then we have a slow cooked saag masala for dinner later. We were going to get a takeaway but decided against it with how expensive they have become. I will cook instead. Its hardly difficult to stick the ingredients in the slow cooker.

We will see what the weather is like before we decide if we will walk up to the local pub for a couple of beers this afternoon.

Sounds like it’s going to be a brilliant day 🍻 I can’t remember the last time we had a takeaway, just can’t justify spending that much when homemade is so much cheaper and probably tastes just as good if not better.

We used to have takeaways quite regular as DH doesn’t cook and it was the only night I had off cooking. Got to the stage where we didn’t enjoy them . Now we have one a month the Saturday after payday and we enjoy it so much more now. Have a few nice takeaways in the area as well.x

We had a brilliant day yesterday.

We are not up to much today. I will cook us a breakfast before our friends head home this morning.

Think a dog walk will be on the cards this morning as well.

We don't have any plans for this afternoon. I need to do a couple of loads of washing. Might get the board games out.

It's roast lamb for dinner later.

Good to read you are still doing well @RelievedSheff

We eat out a fair amount but the only takeaways we have are fish and chips and Indian. Later not very often at all, always find it is not good value and usually spend more time moaning about it than actually enjoying it haha.

Another wet and windy start to the working week. Traffic was awful this morning as well.

Not much planned for this working week.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is lamb and mint casserole made with the leftovers from last nights roast dinner served in a giant Yorkshire pudding with some greens.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
The other half sounds like he has an interesting week in store at work. The younger panel beater has been offered a job with much better pay and is likely to be handing in his notice this morning. If he does that leaves the other half on his own on the shop floor as the other panel beater is on long term sick. Sounds like the young lad would be daft not to take the job though, it is much better pay, in a modern brand new garage with training and ongoing investment in the staff.

At least it is dry this morning. We have had a much better drive into work this morning, far less traffic.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is roast duck, rice and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
The other half had an eventful day at work yesterday. The young lad did hand his notice in but the boss is willing to talk figures and see if they can all come up with an hourly rate that they think is acceptable. So the upshot is that it looks like they will all be getting a pay rise in the very near future. The other half seemed happy enough.

Sounds like the young lad has done all his workmates a favour there. It's a shame he was thinking about leaving but you can't blame him wanting to earn more. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

It remains to be seen if the young lad stays. He has already been told that he can not match what he has been offered at the other place. But has been asked to come back with a figure he would be happy with.
