Don’t just be happy with a higher rate than you should be paying - that’s just money in the banks’ pocket. Madness. I’ve just got a new deal on my res home 1.4% (no product fee) did fix that for 5 but much more and no way would I have done that. Low rates are here for the long haul def won’t see big rises next two years with the adverse off you’ll get better rates 100%. Ltv is a bit stretched too but not as crucial for res so you’re much better off paying extra off the debts than the mortgage.
We are happy to fix at a slightly higher rate for this next 5 years on the basis that we will have a lot better LTV when the next remortgage comes around and only 9 years to go on the mortgage payments or even less if we can bring the term down again.5 -
We reverted back to Plan A for today and went fossil hunting on a quiet beach. Think we probably shouldn't have gone but both areas are Tier 3 and we didn't interact with anyone so can't see any harm done.
The dog loved it as did we.
So a low spends day at £2 for the parking. We took a flask of coffee with us.

That looks lovely, the weather today turned out quite nice in the end. I love going to the beach out of season.

Not a no spends day today. We are going to a local market town to go to a cracking butchers and pick up some nice dry cured smoked bacon and have a browse of the market there.
Breakfast and dinner will be from stores but we will grab some lunch while we are out and about. Breakfast is toasted bagel and dinner will be slow cooked beef madras with rice and sides.
The dog will have a good long walk while we are out and about and then when we get back we have a few chores to do. I need to iron the boat curtains and clean the bathrooms and we could do with running the vacuum around again.6 -
Oh well Tier 4 for us now. Glad we made the most of our last day where we could travel. Will be very local exercise from home for a while now.5

Yes the Tier 4 is a bit disappointing but not surprised as most of the country in that tier now. I don’t know why they don’t just do another lockdown at least everyone would know where they stand. Glad you got to go out and about.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
